Windchimes’ Ideas Thread

So. Since I made a deal with Alcor, here I am, posting a random idea dump thread. ;; No pretty sketches/art for any of these ideas, sorry, since I’m artistically challenged. Beware of walls and walls of text.

Table of Contents
1. Meet Cute
2. Out of Ordinary
3. The Sidekick

Romance/Otome
Meet Cute
[GxB][Romance, Otome, Comedy, Drama]

Lira is positively drowning in emails and notes slipped under her door -- it seems like every single female in the school is trying to get in a request for Lira. Not that it is a surprise to anyone. It has been three years since Lira accidentally became the famous matchmaker in the school. Since then, she has been accepting requests from lonely souls longing for love and trying her best to pair them up with their true love. Now in her senior year and months away from graduating, Lira has announced she will only be accepting three more requests, triggering the flood of messages. While Lira is planning on playing Cupid one last time, little does she know that Cupid has his arrow set on her.

Lira
Three years ago, Lira accidentally created a “meet cute” moment between her sister and her sister’s long-time crush. Since then, Lira has been hailed as the school’s matchmaker.
Energetic, sarcastic and mischievous, Lira takes the duty thrown into her lap surprisingly seriously -- most likely because it appeals to her bossiness and inner issues of control. Despite her brash demeanor, there is a sensitive, emotional side to her that she’d rather die before letting anyone see.

Matthew

As Lira’s best friend and “assistant”, Matthew’s duty is to approach the male crushes and cooperate with Lira so they can create “meet cute” moments and accidental dates for the soon-to-be-couples.
Cheerful and optimistic, Matthew’s bright smile and good sense of humor draws people to him like a magnet. Unfortunately, none of his relationships have lasted long, because of one fatal flaw that all girls eventually complain about -- his inability to be serious when the time calls for it.

Alex
Quiet, soft-spoken and painfully shy, Alex hasn’t had much luck in the love department. Throwing caution to the wind, he decides to put in an unusual request to the school’s renowned matchmaker, hoping she will change his fate of being forever alone. Now it’s up to Lira to find a perfect match for this secretly hopelessly romantic but socially awkward “client”!

Desmond
Opinionated and cynical, Desmond never fails to meddle in Lira’s attempts at matchmaking. He’s distrustful of Lira ever since an incident a year ago, and has tried to get in the way of her matchmaking business multiple times. While bitter and somewhat secretive, he is fiercely loyal and has a heart made of gold -- you just have to get past the thorns to realize that.

Gameplay: Normal visual novel style. You will be making choices at certain moments that will affect how/whether the couples meet/end up together. Your interactions and choices with the three love interests will affect your relationship with them, and thus the ending you get.

Adventure/Mystery
Out of Ordinary
[Mystery, Adventure, Drama, Comedy]

You could have sworn you placed your pen on the desk over there just now. Why is it in in the drawer now?
Follow Callie on her journey as she goes through her daily life, trying to ignore -- or maybe discover -- these mysterious incidents where things just don’t seem quite right.

Callie
Quiet and perceptive, Callie has always been proud of her observation skills. That is, until strange things that don’t quite add up keep happening around her, making her wish she could start noticing details a little less. Will Callie face her fear of change and the unknown, or will she turn a blind eye and ignore the mysterious events?

Gameplay: Game/VN hybrid. There will be a button at the top for you to press every time you notice discrepancies in the narration about the events that are happening during the story, kind of like in detective games where you press a button when someone’s evidence is wrong, except this time it’s not a person lying, but the universe. Once the suspicion gauge is filled up, it will jump to a route where you discover the truth behind these mysterious happenings.
The Sidekick
[Optional GxB][Adventure, Fantasy, Comedy, Drama, (Romance)]

All hail the great sorcerer, Liam, who has saved the world from destruction! Oh, and his sidekick, Tasha, of course.
After years of wandering, on a quest to find the only enchanted item that would be their salvation, Liam and Tasha finally succeeded. Launched into fame overnight, a book based on Liam’s experiences has just been published. Having been sent a free copy of the book, Tasha decides to read it on a boring afternoon. While not shocked that she was merely relegated to a sidekick from the shadows, she can’t help but be bitter at the fact that her accomplishments and importance were completely overshadowed by Liam’s glory.
A fateful twist of events sends Tasha back in time to when she was still on the journey with Liam. Now given a second chance and the advantage of foresight, will Tasha be satisfied with her role as the sidekick, or will she take the glory for herself this time? How would her choices affect the outcome of their quest?

Liam
Once a sweet, earnest boy with big dreams, Liam is now arrogant and stubborn. Not that he doesn’t have good reason to be so prideful -- he is one of the most powerful sorcerers of all the lands, after all. Despite letting the fame get to his head, deep down, Liam is still the kind-hearted boy he once was, and nothing matters more to him than this quest to save the world.

Tasha
Tasha was previously Liam’s apprentice due to a favour he owes her family. However, she quickly realizes her strengths do not lie in magic, but rather, in physical combat. Ever since then, she has went on numerous quests with Liam, making up for his hopelessness in hand to hand combat.
Although Tasha often butts heads with Liam because of her fiery temper and sassy nature, she is loyal to Liam and views him as one of the most important people in his life. She just wishes he’d be a little less arrogant and an insufferable jerk sometimes.

Will add more later when I'm bored enough to do so.

Are you looking for feedback on these ideas, or to inspire people to post ideas of their own? In the former case, I like this one the most:

I think it would be interesting if this (theoretical) VN started with an ambiguous scene that changes meanings based on your choices. Perhaps something like filing one of the copies of Liam's book back on to the shelf. Is it the only copy left because it's so popular? Or is it the only copy left because the library/bookstore only bothered to order one? Maybe part of this scene changes based on your choices.

The two also could have an interesting dynamic. Maybe Tasha manages to lead Liam toward being an evil sorcerer, and then kills him for the good of the world (or frames him?). Maybe Tasha and Liam develop a reluctant romance and then eventually appear in the book in equal roles?
