WIP :Prince of Lawyers, An Ace Attorney game: NEED ARTIST(S)

So I'm new here but I wanted to announce my game and possibly recruit some help.

Image

The game is called Prince of Lawyers (if you hadn't figured that out from the title or that image above), and it is being written with Java, therefore its cross platform.

This game follows my Ace Attorney OC, Tyray Prince. The game has most of my OCs but I plan on using a few canon characters.
My characters:
ImageTyray Prince - The ghetto-raised, street smart defense attorney standing for the rights of the misunderstood people in the inner city.
ImageOmar Senkofa - A prosecutor from Africa who is 11 years older than Ty. Ty claims to know him, however, Omar denies ever seeing him.
Canon characters
Winston Payne - 1st case prosecutor
Detective Gumshoe - the detective

I intend on creating 5 episodes, releasing each one at a time
Episodes:
Turnabout Pasta
Turnabout Mansion
Turnabout Soul Train
Africa Man's Turnabout
Turnabout in the Night

Turnabout Pasta has been released before, and Turnabout Mansion was in development, but I found a huge problem with the engine, and had to rewrite it. So I ended up removing all the download links for Turnabout Pasta that I knew of. Also I'm sure that Turnabout Pasta was the first Ace Attorney fangame to be released (but if anyone knows otherwise please speak up).

I got proof. These are screenshots of the current WIP engine. (click to enlarge)

And some shots of the original engine

I think thats enough proof.

Now then, down to business. I would like to recruit some help. Mainly in the following
Art - Im thinking about replacing all those resized sprites with some high quality art. Cause let's face it: resized sprites are ugly. Anyway, if you want to recruit for art you must:
  • Be experienced with some advanced editing software such as Photoshop or The Gimp.
  • Be good at drawing things based on something else
  • Be a decent speed (I'm probably gonna have you drawing whole sprite sheets here.)
I can have more than one artist. I think all this would be too much work for one artist. Anyway, if you want to try out for an artist, take any one of the 2 sprites above (or both if you want to), and draw them in high quality. however there are a few guidelines:
  • Art must be able to fit in a 640x480 screen
  • It MUST be drawn against a transparent background
  • Save it as a PNG file
  • It doesn't have to look exactly like the sprite. get creative with gradients and what not. Now don't go too far and change up clothes or facial structure, just color, and small changes in lineart.
For more info, and a slightly humorous timeline, visit http://www.gyakutenwiki.net/index.php?t ... of_Lawyers.
That's all I have for now. If anyone is interested, just post here.

Just a question about this game, since it sounds interesting...you aren't going to ruin the main character of the first game, like the official sequels are doing, right?

The sequel recently made by the company, which ruins the cahracter of the old protagonist.
You aren't planning on doing something like that, just to make your own main guy look better in comparison, are you?

I could link you to the trope page that details what I'm trying to exaplin as well, if you'd like?

if youre talking about the apollo justice/gyakuten saiban 4 thing, no Im not going to do something like that. If I release any cases more than the 5 listed above, they will still star this guy.

Just in case : please spoiler tag anything that needs it if the conversation goes that way. I haven't yet finished playing PW4. Thank you!

No worries, there was no problem so far ^^ It was just pre-emptive as I'd like to follow the thread, but don't want to get random spoilers :)

Sadly, I'm not a good artist (As anyone who has seen my work can testify), so I can't help you. But I can't wait to see how this turns out. I'm a big fan of Phoenix Wright.

Apollo Justice, however, can go jump off a cliff.

Your new here? The screenshots of your game look amazing, how did you make the inventory list, if you don't mind me asking? Did you do all the customizing of your game too?

Amen to that, my friend!

I am new here. Joined about a month ago.

The inventory list is programmed as a separate app. when a button is clicked, the main game calls that app up and displays it.

Customizing, its a custom engine. This upcoming release, however, bears a loose resemblance to the GBA Ace attorney engine.

Your game looks amazing so far, especially since it's your first game. I wish you luck on your upcoming games

Man, I hope you get a new artist soon... I'm really looking forward to this game. It's different and it looks fun to play!

And also, the jaws of the characters are lower when they open their mouths. GASP! You know how hard it is to find an ADV/VN/KN/SLG like that?
