You are the daughter of a murder victim, and exactly a year after your father's death, the case has gone cold. The police were unable to find any leads. You decide you want your revenge, so you enlist the help of a private detective. You insist that this private detective solves the case - with your help. And along the way, you meet a cast of colorful characters, including the private detective's detective-in-training, a quirky tattoo artist from the parlor next door to your apartment, a guy who always seems to be in the right place at the right time, and even your best friend comes along for the ride. The novel follows your path as you seek out your father's killer - and maybe, you'll be able to exact your revenge on the person who robbed you of your father, with the help of all the right people.

EMMA BENNETT
She's still deep in mourning over the death of her father - she was always so much closer to him than she was to her mother. When he died, she moved out of her mother's house and into her own apartment. She struggles with being alone; she likes being around others. But upon being laid off from her job at a failing independent coffee shop, she decided to turn to hunting down the person who killed her father. And she won't take no for an answer.
CALLIOPE RAMOS
Also known simply as Callie, Callie is the MC's best friend. She's been there with the MC since they were tiny children, and she was there when the MC's father died. She's got a fiery temper, but it only comes out when it really needs to. Otherwise, she's a happy girl who can look pretty rough, but truthfully, she'll only rough you up if she feels it necessary. She looks out for MC as much as she can - and that isn’t only because she has a slight crush on her.
MALCOLM KIM
Malcolm is a no-nonsense, rough-around-the-edges private investigator. He's been in the police force since he was 18, and moved onto investigating after being injured pretty severely on the job when he was 28. He walks with a cane and a slight limp. He has an addiction to chai tea lattes, but he won't let anyone know that. He's a stoic guy, usually with a frown on his face. He's known to put his all into his work, and refuses any kind of distractions. Also, he isn't afraid to hit you with his cane - actually, he quite enjoys it. He knew MC's dad while he was alive, and was actually quite close with him, as they worked together on cases when Malcolm was just starting out.
SEBASTIAN DELEUR
Sebastian seems to always be in the right place in the right time - whenever the MC is in trouble, he's there to save the day. He seems to always know where she is, but he doesn't pose any threat of danger. She wants to know more about him - and she can't help but wonder if he has something to do with the case. Can't give away too much just yet!
CLAUDE MADISON
Claude is a PI in training - and this case is actually his first. He has the demeanor of a puppy - he’s kind, energetic, and cares deeply for other people. He has a heart bigger than his brain, and is quite the opposite of Malcolm in the sense that he’s a very kind, patient human being. He truly believes that people are innately good and that it's very rare for people to be truly heartless. He’s very insecure about his body, because his brother is a very famous model who was blessed with muscles that has every woman swooning. But Claude wasn’t so lucky. He’s always compared himself to his brother. He has a huge dog by the name of Milo - a three-legged German Shephard who Malcolm thinks is the antichrist. He likes to take Milo out and about - he thinks that dogs can cheer up even the saddest of people.
HARPER AMOS
He works at the tattoo parlor just a few stores down from MC's apartment. He was close friends with MC's dad, as he was basically covered in tattoos. He did all of MC's dad's tattoos, and he’s pretty close with a lot of the police in town. It didn’t take him long to find out about MC’s dad, and for reasons that he won’t speak about to anyone for the first part of the game, he insists on helping out. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, so he’s not the MOST amount of help ever. MC's dad rescued him from an abusive household when he was younger, so he insists on helping - he wants justice for the man who saved his life.
