Hi all, just going to do a quick intro. I created the concept for Mother's Roses not too long ago and have been working on it rather obsessively. I really like this idea and would like to go forward with it. However, as this is a rather big project I'm planning, I'd like to hear some feedback from potential audiences about this game before I really start going all-out on it. Also, I'd like to call out for people interested in working with me on this idea, but you can read more about that further down.(Title tentative to change)

Overview:
Frida Strahl has just had another break-up in her long list of failed relationships when she suddenly lost consciousness while wandering aimlessly around town. She wakes up to find herself in a forest and meets a man who immediately points a gun at her and shouts, "I'll send you back to hell, Mother!"
What else is Frida to do but run away?
Unfortunately, Frida will learn that there are worse things to worry about than a gun-wielding man trying to kill her. And it all centers around the deceased tyrant only known as 'Mother.'
Characters:
Frida Strahl (27 years old):
A woman who's had too much on her plate and is often unable to deal with it. She's meek and gloomy so people often either take advantage of her or avoid her. After a traumatic event in her teens, she's been living as a ghost of her former self, unable to truly smile and be happy. She dreams of one day finding her happiness back again, but that day seems so far away from her.
Red (25 years old):
A mercenary who specialises in using a variety of guns, though he's just as proficient in hand-to-hand combat. He's a stoic man who pours his all into his work and taking care of his little brother, Emrys. However, he has a short temper and violent tendencies that seem to get in the way of his everyday life. He hates Frida with a burning passion due to her resemblances to Mother, and Frida herself is wary of him after he tried to kill her when they first met.
Mercurio (26 years old):
A blind healer whose proficiency in magic often leads him to be called a genius. He's a mild-mannered, easygoing man who often acts as a mediator whenever Red starts to lose his temper. Though he's a pacifist, he has no qualms using offensive magic to reach his goals. He's known Red and Emrys for a long time and they consider him a long-time friend. Despite that, Mercurio is the one who unnerves her the least because he has never been hostile with her ever since they met.
Asa Night (32 years old):
A knight under the service of Casper, he's a very kind and gentle man despite his burly physique. He often watches over everyone like an older brother and fusses over all of them, especially his charge Casper. Frida often notes how lonely he sometimes looks and it's the main reason why she comes to trust him quickly. Though she's a little afraid of him due to their rocky first meeting, she does find comfort in his company when everyone else becomes too much.
Emrys (19 years old):
A beautiful young man who becomes attached to Frida at first sight because he believes she is Mother. Due to being Mother's slave since a very young age, he's developed severe Stockholm Syndrome and despises Red who took him away from her. He is rarely seen without a smile on his face around Frida and she doesn't quite know if she finds it eerie or cute. He is, however, much stronger than what his waifish looks may imply.
Casper Rousseau (27 years old):
A loud and brash man of foreign origins who is apparently heir to the throne. However, one look at him has Frida's blood run cold. Apparently he eerily resembles someone who's key to the unfolding of her past traumatic event. He always likes to joke around and is always friendly towards Frida, but Frida isn't convinced of his act. He doesn't seem to be particularly enthusiastic about taking over the throne, though. But no one can really tell what's on his mind because he jokes around too much.
Planned Features:
- 20+ endings! 4 for each character route
- Quite a fair number of bad endings
- A (hopefully) well-researched story with dark, mature themes
- An ambitious estimated 10+ hours of gameplay
- Pretty art (as pretty as I can make it)
- May become commercial (depending on how much work I can get done on my own)
- More than one steamy scene with each bachelor (because it's R-18 for various reasons )
- Lots of pretty CGs
What I've got done:
- An outline of the introduction. From how Frida got there to meeting the five pursuable characters.
- A basic idea of what Red, Mercurio, and Emrys should look like.
- A simple, bullet-style four page document of the characters (will grow longer as I add things such as key scenes and highlights)
- Red's and Mercurio's endings are plotted out (but will very likely change)
Recruitments:
As I'm doing...everything on my own right now, I'd like to recruit some help to make this game the best it could be. Though I definitely don't mind doing most of the work (I was planning to do so anyways), I'll be very, very grateful if any writers, artists, graphic designers, composers, anyone would like to offer their services. Heck, even if you just want to be an ideabouncer I'm totally fine with it. However, there is a requirement for those who want to apply:
You must be willing to work with heavy and disturbing topics as well as mature content. If you are especially uncomfortable with either of those, then I'm sorry but this isn't the right place for you.
If you're interested, please reply to this thread or shoot me a PM.
Questions:
1. What do you think of this game? Will you be interested in playing it?
2. Based on the (admittedly meager) descriptions, which character are you most interested in? Why?
3. Would you be willing to pay for it if it becomes commercial? Why or why not?
4. What are your expectations for this game? What pitfalls do you want the game to avoid?
5. Feedbacks, comments, criticisms, questions, concerns, etc. are welcome! Please tell me what you think or ask me anything!
