Looking for a programmer and artists for a VN project

No... actually, that last one wasn't at all bad. As I said, what I like in qq's pictures is the mood, and this is pretty much what I've been looking for in terms of mood. No need for perfection; I'm perfectly happy with a background artist who can capture the essence of a scenery.

qq, I'll get back to you. There's probably some more work for you than just the BG art, but we'll see about that.

Okay... for the time being, for lack of time (also mine) and for lack of a character artist, Foxtaile is currently on hold. The project will be officially resumed once eclipse has time (and I can continue the script).

This comes rather quickly, but now is the NaNoRenO month, and as Foxtaile won't be a NaNoRenO game, I will delay the project.

I like the way you don't hesitate to put it on hold. Gives confidence for the future, when one knows you can realistically consider things around the project. Good luck!

I just thought that it helps neither me nor the others in this forum when everybody keeps asking "when will it be done" and all I can answer is "I don't know".

I on the other hand, deal with problems like these differently.

If I lack someone to do something (such as me back when I lacked BG), I continue working on what needs to be done on my side, as according to plan. Since the story is so large, I must continue writing and translating it without stopping. At the meantime, other aspects of the project can be refined - music quality, graphics refinement (whatever we have), and program feature additions...

The world of business doesn't stop. Either get more quantity or more quality, but dont' stop.

Don't worry - just the fact that I've put the project on hold won't mean I am not doing anything for it. In fact, I'll probably be writing on - though more slowly than before - and I'm also going to cooperate more closely with qq to make sure our BG art is coming out well. But without seeing a single line from our character artist, I can't realistically decide "that's where we put a special piece of CG art in the game" or "I'll give a character this quirk..." That's why I've called a hold, to take pressure from the team during a time most people may have split attentions.

And this is not a business project. It's still a fan project. I know how much of my time I can donate to it, and during March, that won't be much. Thus, hold and wait for eclipse.

Regarding event CGs and stuff like stage layout...

This is where the storyguy (officially called SCENARIO DIRECTOR) does his/her work. They sketch and describe out EVERYTHING that's supposed to be in there in the story and sidenotes.

Then, he or she orders the artists to draw that to specs. It's tyranny. XD

Still, with a fan-based team, I need to see what's feasible. If my main artist just can't draw males, a shounen-ai VN would be problematic, wouldn't it?

Not that "Foxtaile" is shounen-ai, mind you... ^^

Considering taleweaver only has a month to do this...He should make sure he can do the project even if it means putting the otherone on a (hopefully) short-term hold.

Er... Foxtaile in NOT a NaNoRenO game, so I have all the time in the world for it. Okay, maybe not EXACTLY that much... ^^

I'm happy to announce that the script for Foxtaile is now complete. Not necessarily error-free, but it's all written down now. I'm hoping for a playable demo by the end of July, but it could take a few more weeks, depending on how fast eclipse and qq get their work done. EsperKnight has assured me he can piece everything together within a week once he has all source material.

As for the plot: Foxtaile takes place in the aftermath of the Japanese civil war (the Sengoku Jidai; around 1600). The worlds of gods and men collide when a wounded samurai is rescued by a group of fox spirits. A tale of trust and betrayal, of love and loss follows, and the outcome is determined by the actions of a single female fox spirit: You.

On a totally unrelated note, to assure my future status of "Writing Maniac", I've already started with the planning for my next VN project titled Unseen. I'm not going to reveal anything about the plot... well, except to anybody who'd be willing and capable to help me with the project. ^_^ Kikered might be interested in doing the programming again, but I definitely need artists.

It's interesting how your works seem to be truly Japan-related. For Foxtaile you probably also had to do some research and all... I would probably prefer the historical side over the spiritual, BUT you made it work so nicely with MB, I'm willing to fight my fantasy-phobia ^_^ Good luck!
