Ok, now to business.
Project Description:
Goals (aka 6 step plan to early retirement):
1. Gather and pay team to produce demo assets.
2. Complete + release demo.
3. Use the demo and assets for a kick starter campaign.
4. Complete + release full game.
5. Take out 2017 Man Booker prize, and Nobel Prize in Literature (optional)…
6. Early retirement $$$… (optional)…
Project name: “Love, from Zazie” (working title)
Brief synopsis: Little Zazie’s parents are sending her away. The move is sudden, and threatens a special relationship she has with her friend, Jim. She promises to write, just as soon as she knows her new address. But her letters never arrive, and Jim has no way to contact her. After ten years without contact, just as Jim is finishing high school, his mother announces that Zazie is coming to stay.
Genre: choice driven romantic comedy/drama.
Censor rating: PG13?
Platforms: I don’t take my computer with me everywhere, but I have my phone with me all the time. I wish there were more beautiful VNs for mobile platforms. Hey, maybe I can change that. I’d like to build:
- Initially for mobile platforms (android and iOS): paid version price TBC, plus free version with ads.
- Potentially for PC & Mac: paid version price TBC.

Project Background:
I started “Love, from Zazie” when I was 19, but left it only half complete. I’m 35 now, making me probably the oldest VN developer noob on the planet. But I’ve clocked up a little more life experience since I started writing this story. I served in the army. Graduated university (media studies) majoring in philosophy. Won and lost a whole bunch of martial arts tournaments. Became a professional “artist”. Got kicked in the guts big time by the GFC. Fell in love, got married, had babies. Built a business that feeds the family plus some.
Ok wow, so the last 16 years of my life fits into half a paragraph. About 50 words. Huh. Well, what I was trying to do was briefly introduce myself, and say that I’ve changed a lot since I was 19. I don’t think exactly the same way I did when I was younger. And now, as I work to complete the story, it’s like the first half belongs to the 19 year old me, and the 2nd half belongs to the 35 year old me. I think, because of this, I can make something that is kinda familiar and original. My 19 year old self started with generic stereotypes (which make the story more familiar) and now I can finish it with material that is less conventional (hopefully making the story more original).

Legal – 0% (no idea where to start)
Story – 75% (start and end is complete, just need to work on the middle)
Script – 33% (so far 26,000 words of 75,000 target)
Visuals – 1% (nothing ready except character draft designs)
Audio – 10% (2 draft tracks from my wife)
Programming – 0% (I bought tyrannobuilder, but I probably need to use renpy)
Marketing – 0% (nothing ready)

All work is paid and very open to negotiation. I’m a professional “artist” myself, so I’m on your side. Getting paid for work is important.

He probably is just in a clouded moment. Once he thinks it through he can separate and post accordingly. This happens quite a few times. Publishing is a little hazy when you are a individual developer.

Sound pretty cool. Kind of like the book of Isaiah in the Bible. He wrote the first half, and then approximately 100 years after his death. His followers wrote the second half.

It was almost like it was a whole new book!

So be careful, people might see your transition between 19 to 35. So try to blend it well.

oh hey guys, thank you very much for your concerns.
I thought it best to write about my project here, as it's currently an idea.
Hopefully very soon it'll become a real Work In Progress (when the demo is ready).
And then one day it'll be a Completed Game :'D
I think for that reason I've posted in the correct part of the forum.
