This and the recent release of The Rise and Fall of Gemini (I did the BG art for it) kinda gave me the kick I needed. =P Especially 'cause I'm a schmukmup nut and I love pew pew but my lack of C++ knowledge so far doesn't let me make one and STG builder is all in scary japanese. I love my mechs grey, blue and with Macross Missile Massacres (c).why fantasy yes and sci-fi/space no?
My suspicion is that fantasy tends to be brightly colored and cheerful looking and scifi tends to be all dark, chrome, and blue. Instinctively, they look less friendly and happy. Many space games have nothing to look at but gray ships. Dull! Also, people have probably built up long associations with space and shooty-shooty stuff they're not good at.
Anyway, what I mean is that I'm writing an extremely short story (probably less than 5k words) that will spawn the VN and, yeah, it'll be sci-fi, but all pretty and full of feelings and colours. You'll see. I'll post real details when I have the full thing done and I finish brainstorming the amount of BGs needed (probably less than 5) and stuff. Hoping to have the whole script done, corrected, edited, proofread (can't stop stressing this: print your script and read it carefully while staying away from the comp, music and other distractions) and deployed on Ren'Py by the end of February. *fingers crossed*

Obviously I can't help it and no matter how colourful I end up making it, strange, crazy stuff will happen. Sorry ^^;;
