WIP - Flower Shop aka Deji's motivational thread!

I am working on yet another game this year. It will feature art from our favourite artist Deji! After reading all her misfortunes on this forum I decided that was time someone released a finished product with her great art

Unfortunately recently she had some troubles and I think her motivation is a bit low right now. Don't know what is her usual working speed, the final quality is always amazing, but I really would like to have all the art done before this summer, so I can release the game "Flower Shop" before next Christmas. There is still quite lot of characters to draw and some special CGIs as well.

I hope this thread, and the screenshot below that I made with her 2nd character set, will boost her morale and raise her motivation too! All you have to do is flood her mailbox with menacing emails (I'm joking of course!)

Yeah, I thought so too. It's just unfortunate that the writers she worked with before isn't the type that is very dedicated. Her work is already at the standard of freelancing paid artist yet she's isn't treated like one. For that jack_norton, I wish you all the best and that you have continuous dedication towards finishing "Flower Shop". I also wish Deji mood will improve. Good luck on the project.

Jack Norton you are a very busy man, I don't see how you can have so much energy for all these game at one time. But I'm glad you do anyway! The artwork is amazing, as expected coming from Deji, but what's the story summary about?

Yes I'm a busy man well, the fact is that is always good to have a project ready to start once I finish the currently active one (in this case Spirited Heart). From my experience, making the art takes lot of time (in general, even if the artist is good and works fast) so I don't want to have pauses waiting for art and I plan in advance the next projects.

The story is about a teenager boy, who likes more to go after girls than studying, that gets bad grades at school, so his father, a rich businessman, as punishment sends him to his uncle farmohouse to work for the whole summer. There he'll met several people, including Susana who is "the flower shop girl", who will change his life and beliefs forever.

I have 8 different endings planned for now (there will be also other girls beside her), and the gameplay will be the classic dating sim with a weekly schedule planner. For now it's all

I'm experimenting with texts: I am thinking if to remove the frame completely and just use the texts on background, like in the good old LucasArt adventure games. I'll have to make different font color set for each character speaking though, but I like the final effect so I am thinking to really use it. Any comments welcome

I think it's really nice without the frame, deji's work shines even better.

What I don't think is nice, is making public the production issues you have with your artist.
