Well, I don't think racial discrimination would be a fresh theme to tackle in a furry story, but I was thinking more along the lines of different species having different harmless quirks. Like what foods they like, how their houses look like etc. Of course, there could always be characters that don't really fit the stereotypes of their species. But if they are actually all the same species (as in, they can all have families together) and just happen to have physical traits from different animals, it would be best to avoid this kind of classifications.
