Eh... I'm sorry if its a stupid title but, eh.
I'm a fan of Ren'ai games. I have wanted to make one, or at least try since I first ran across them two or three years ago. It was suggested that I come here and ask for advice by my friend "Chaoticatomicbomb".
I'd like to know what you guys suggest to use, and for any help that could be offered.

Hi! Glad to hear another one has been taken in to the dark side - ah, I mean - the wonderful world of ren'ai games. =)
Anywhoooo, here's a bunch of places you should check out if you haven't already:
Engine's:
Ren'Py - most used engine
Official Ren'Py forum
-Flash
-
GameMaker
Articles of interest:
Lem'ai Ren'ai Devlopment Center - some nice tips plus some other cool stuff
Ren'ai Games.com Development Corner - a good chunk of articles including Ren'Py 101 tutorials
Other original ren'ai games:
Ren'ai Archives - mostly to see what's already been done, get ideas for your game, and so forth
If you have anything specific you want to know, just ask away and someone will answer you... eventually.
j/k We're usually pretty good at helping others. ^^

Personally, I think you can be average or even below average in any of the game elements (story, art, music, programming...). The difference between those who made a game it and those who didn't is mostly focus and discipline.

Thats the thing. I'm not sure if I can get ahold of any music that I think would be good for it. ^^;;;

A bunch of other stuff to consider when you're not looking for individuals but rather materials and such...
Good luck and best wishs.

And if you haven't read it, I really recommend you read
Blue Lemma's Ren'Ai Game-Making Tips...

There's some very good advice. This board has many people who've seen projects get abandoned... if you're serious about getting your game finished, I really really recommend taking the advice there.

Hmmm, I'll shamelessly suggest my own
advice. It includes also thoughts on technology being instrumental for your concept. Yeah, it's self-promotion, but I wrote it for a reason and this is it.
