Hello :3 I've never coded anything before, but I saw something someone made with Ren'py, and I knew I had to try it out! So, I'm making a visual novel about a comic Idea I had that I never really went into. . . basically it means I have characters and a story that's extreeemley flexible. I've already created the very beginning, but I have some questions I'd like to ask. . . basically, what do you like in a VN?
The bare bones of it is it follows the story of Gaspard Gusteaux, a (short) Vampire Hunter, and his partner Vincent. Vincent is a vampire. He's not a very scary vampire. I make everything cute.
So. . . I wanted to ask, now that I've coded my intro, what do you think makes a fun VN? I'm better at drawing than anything else, so it already has a lot a lot of pictures. But I wanted to ask some more experienced people. . ..
Do branching storylines annoy you trying to hunt down endings?
What makes a good kinetic novel?
What do you think about fanservice?
Sorry if this seems too much like daydreaming- I really do have a quarter of this thing done, and intend to finish it over winter break.
Here's a crappy doodle of my main character, Gaspard. The real art will be much tighter. (please ignore the right arm

Also, no my vampires do not sparkle.
