The Rating: This is a mature, dark read. I would prefer it if you were mature to read it. Violence, death, gore, sexuality, and language is all involved. To the extremes, I might add. Some of them overlap, as well.
The setting: Set in modern times in a nameless town, possibly an alternate universe from our own. As it so turns out, we have been living side by side with demons, angels, lycanthropes, vampires, hybrids, and other such creatures. They have come out of the closet, so to say, and their integration into society is harsh.*
Plot: In this Arc* we follow a young vampire, Richie, as he comes to age. Sheltered from the outside world, he takes the opportunity to leave once his Sire is away on business. Alone and hungry, he stumbles upon a shop near his house. It is there that he meets a half demon, who feeds him. At the shop, he witnesses fascinating events and people. A werewolf and a human make their way through the shop that evening. Richie learns that he has to control his feeding impulses the hard way. Every night he returns to the shop, curious about his true nature. More curious is the half demon he finds himself falling for. However--he loves his Sire, Dimitri. How can he love two people without betraying them both? Conflicted by his sexuality and his Sire's return, he continues to visit the shop to find answers, rebelling from Dimitri.
Dimitri's cruel but loving nature forces Richie to remain with him. In their time together after Dimitri's return, they fall under attack by a werewolf, meet a distant cousin, and bring another into their family. Their happy times are interrupted by the appearance of a man calling himself Dimitri's sire.
All the while, Richie declares his love for the half demon. Soon after, he realizes that he cannot stay with her forever.
He has to make a choice between family obligation and love.
