My hands hold the future, yours hold my hope...
Whatever reality gives to us, whether hardships or glory, I'll be here for you...

There are two worlds.
One soul beneath each one.
The spirit dies, the other perish.
The physical one dies, one will remain untouched.

The physical one is called Corpus,
and the spiritual one is called Animus.
Each is tied to one another.
Without one of them knowing.

But then, the physical Equivalent has gone on a wide famine,
and they are desperate for survival.
Thus, to save it's own, it used it's own soul to save it's body.
Ransacked the Spiritual Equivalent to save it's own,
without them knowing of the Spiritual Equivalent's existence.

The Spiritual Equivalent is in danger.
Sick of a disease it's own body caused.
A black fog has engulfed it's sky, and thus,
life is almost hopeless in that Equivalent.

But, the residents of Animus have learned to live without life.
They have grown tired of war, and gave up on fighting for the Sun.
The residents of Corpus lived their lives,
not realizing the doom that awaited them.

"You can live without a body,
but you can't live without a soul."
Without Animus, the world of Corpus will face it's end.

The legends speak of a physical Host,
a Host from the Other world.
If the Host is sacrificed,
his blood drawing the symbol of the golden light,
all will be saved.

But, in Animus, no one believes in that legend anymore.

But a single girl isn't among them.

A daughter of a farmer, she was considered an outcast.
Her clan tried negotiating to the mortals from Corpus,
which was considered as treachery.
And she's willing to clear her clan's name,
and save both Equivalents.

Characters

--NOTE--
The surname that goes before the slash is used in Corpus.
The surname that goes after the slash is used in Animus.

(going on revamps)
Gracealis Concedero / Ricelia
Age: 16

A farmer's daughter, but her father broke the clan's chain of harvest casters and became an earth caster instead. She is a smart girl, but she is pretty hard to talk to because she had grown to people's insults. On Animus, she studies well and hard, but on Corpus, she doesn't even listen on discussions and she still passes. Tends to be emotionless and insensitive. But she's kind, only that it's pretty hard to make her to, because when somebody pisses her off, she starts this hobby of throwing craft knives around.
A bit of a trivia: She can sing, but she rarely does. She have preserved her voice though, and you are very lucky when you hear her sing.

~~~~~~~~~~
(going on revamps)
Sharia Legayo / Circeses
Age: 16
Gracealis' friend, and a girl who doesn't know who she really is. She grew up in the orphanage, grew tired, escaped and a lawyer popped out of nowhere and treated her like his real daughter. She has some affinity with Animus, and thus she has some magical capability with spiritual boundaries of people. She is pretty clueless to things, and she blabbers and talks like a machine gun. It's pretty hard to make her happy or make her smile when she's in a stretch.
A bit of a trivia: There's some conflict between Sharia and Connor. What is it?
~~~~~~~~~~

(going on revamps)
Connor Cabrera / Panexius
Age: 18

A teenager from Corpus two years older than Gracealis and Sharia. He is pretty strange, being so grade-conscious and even gets the time to goof off like a clown. He never talks about his family, his parents, much less what is even on their home. He draws, he loves playing and he likes ... all types of comedy. Well, anything fun is fun, for him, at the very least. He is very very hard to explain. You can't even tell if he's joking or not, because sometimes he cries out of nowhere and says that Gracealis made him to, which leads to her annoyance.
A bit of a trivia: He sings too, but his voice is pretty deep. And, he makes dance routines for weird songs like making a dance for "This is the way I brush my teeth, brush my teeth, brush my teeth... this is the way I comb my hair, comb my hair, comb my hair..."

~~~~~~~~~~
(Sprite still on-progress)
Devin Ruiz / Krisaranas
Age: 15
A pretty clumsy boy from Corpus one year below Gracealis and Sharia, but in the same year as the two. Sharia likes pulling him around, in his collar, his shirt, even his hair. So when Sharia does that, Gracealis reveals her matchmaking side and teases the two. Devin is not at all smart, but he wants to be. He also likes drawing, but really sucks at it, and Sharia gives her tips. He is laid back and soft-spoken. Well, at least on the exterior. He says that nobody had seen his pure, 100% anger.
A bit of a trivia: He's a Vocaloid addict.
~~~~~~~~~~

(Character design still on-progress)
Jonathan Joseph Yuchengco / Xandarin
Age: 16

A guy from Corpus and/or from Animus. He came from both actually, so he's technically a half-spirit. He likes staring at people and intimidating them. He has a serious hobby of reading books. He doesn't study at the school, but he works as the English teacher's assistant usually and studies at Animus. He also works as one of Animus' patrol agents, which has the ability to go to Animus from Corpus without the use of mirrors. He doesn't like girls much, but for an unknown reason, he's really drawn more to Gracealis than the others. He likes appearing out of nowhere and creeping people out with his differently-colored eyes.
A bit of a trivia: He's older than the one he's assisting, actually.

~~~~~~~~~~
(Sprite still on-progress)
Miguel Joseph Hao / Arwinmain Sairhaldis
NOTE : He needs to change his whole name or Gracealis will recognize him.
Age: 17
A sure guy from Animus. He works physically at a comedy bar, and he's pretty popular. But in reality, he is one of the sentries sent from Animus to capture Gracealis for her treason to the kingdom. He might be smaller than her twin brother, but he's a lot quicker. He has a cheerful attitude and disposition, and he really likes baking. He tends to be addicted to it. Miguel has a sad past though, which is obvious with the way he acts on things.
A bit of a trivia: His left elf ear has a tiny snip at the tip with a brown star-like birthmark, which kinda distinguishes him from his twin.
~~~~~~~~~~

(Character design still on-progress)
Alwyn Sairhaldis
NOTE: He doesn't need a name for use in Corpus, and his band name isn't his real name anyway.
Age: 17

Being Miguel's twin, also a guy from Animus. He is a vocalist of a band physically, but he is also side-by-side with his twin to capturing Gracealis. Like Jon, he has an obsession with books, and he has a large library with the stuff. He is slower than his twin, but strength is his advantage. He has a serious disposition with things. He merely doesn't care about anything, but if it's for his twin and his family, he'd be crazy to protect them. So you're lucky when you see him smile.
A bit of a trivia: He has yandere tendencies.

Why doesn't this thread have any replies?

I was thinking this was a high fantasy until I saw talk of guns. The mix of genres here is tripping me out. Magical sand elves with guns? My brain asplode.

I really like the depth you've put forward for the characters so far. And I like that you've cataloged them but there's still plenty of intrigue. I also love the opening snippet. I think the world you're setting up is pretty interesting so far! I want to know more about the "boundary" and the "Equivalent" and such. :)

Thank you so much~ Actually it's just a hurried storyline because I was making it between my schoolwork. :D
The mix of genres is the emphasized point of the story. I made it an effort to bring them to a fantasy world AND still retain most of the attitudes they got from technology. The first designs actually of the characters are modern clothes with fantasy accents (like pendants, embroidered coats, jewelry stuff, etc, etc...). xD

And about the Equivalents. My apologies for being so confusing about them and failing to give much detail into it. Actually, the modern world is the physical world. Kaluplanaea is the spiritual Equivalent of the modern world. It's more like our world except that they use magic, they have different beliefs and they make their lives better in a nice way. The real reason of the start of the conflict is because that because Kaluplanaea keeps their resources going, while the physical world isn't, and when they accidentally stumbled to Kaluplanaea... ransack time.

As of the boundary, it's that wall of strong energy between the worlds. Once they tried to cross it, but one ended up being "burned" by the energy wall. So all is afraid to cross it. But Gracealis was VERY curious about it, and touched it by purpose. She accidentally discovered how to cross the boundary.

I hope I made some thing clear, Aleema-san~

Sounds pretty interesting. I'm looking to learn more about coding renpy, and what better way then to help someone out? I can very likely also help out with some story improvement. But how much time I will have the next few months is also somewhat questionable for me at this point. I'm heading out of town this weekend but lets talk in a couple days once I'm back and we can see if what I can offer and want will work out for you ^_^

Thank you so much, Ellume-san~
I actually really need help with the coding, I suck at coding. xD
But then, thanks so much for wanting to help out with the storyline.Because I'm pretty young and somehow my writing style is pretty weird.

I really need all the help that I can get~

Well I'm back. That was one super eventful day for me o_O But on to some questions about this project ^_^ You have a lot of stuff written up about the characters, but what I'm wondering is what are your personal goals for this project? How long do you want it? It seems that you want multiple endings with different boys, correct? Did you want to have it a straight VN or were you thinking of trying to make it more complex with some kind of minigame or combat system? Do you have a time frame or goals for when you want the project completed?

This will help me to get a better idea of what you want for your project overall ^_^

I don't have a fixed deadline for the game. But if possible, I wanted it finished by June or August next year.... :)
What I am planning is a little branched. What I mean is that according to the boy that you follow, the storyline would change gradually, but can still go with the flow of the storyline. And I kinda wanted 3 or 4 endings for each guy.

I want to practice my writing skills too, so I don't want it to have battle systems or mini-games. Maybe only a few of the mini-games, probably, if that would help. But I don't want dumping too much work on myself and whoever coder I'll work with, so I've wanted a kinda simple script.

I hope my expectations aren't too high. xDDDD

3-4 endings for 5 boys.. 15-20 endings. Thats pretty ambitious, but it's more on how you do it. If your mainly sticking to story then it would be easier to just have a straight VN. You can always add in some kind of minigame after you complete the whole story if you really want. Especially if this is your first VN project, I suggest trying to keep things as simple as possible.

Have you already started writing the actual story? If so about how many words are you along? also have started putting it into renpy?

The story is not yet exceeding 1000 words yet. That's how slow I am. Because at certain times, I'm trying to concentrate first on the sprites (and searching a little help for some BGs) before the script itself, and also because I think I'm ruining the script at times so I ask for other's opinions. But once in a while, it grows a little. Some of the main points have been placed in Ren'py, because I think I'd be faster if I type in the speech before I do the thing where I'll control the whole setup. Well, that's in my opinion.

Anyway...

As you said, yes I am ambitious, and as I said before, I suck at coding, that's why I really need help~ It's like this VN project is only up till my dreams as it looks like... But I'll finish this someday, only it will be slow... :D

The project seems to be a bit larger then I want to commit to right now, but it seems as if you already have more people offering help. More still will likely come to offer their serves in the future as well. Goodluck with this project, I look forward to its release!

I know this thread has been dead for AGES, so I'll post some updates. ^^

Some sneak previews:
SHARIA: Aiko…What time is it now…?

I glance on my wristwatch.

AIKO: Ten thirty in the morning…

Argh, where are they?
Our proposed time is thirty minutes past nine in the morning…
I should have lowered my expectations. Those boys both wake up late in these should-be rest days.

CHRISTIAN: Hey, Aiko!

……
Finally…

AIKO: Hey your face! What time is it now and what time SHOULD we meet?
CHRISTIAN: I know… I’m sorry. Now it’s only Devin…
SHARIA: Why were you late, anyway?
CHRISTIAN: I have to do some chores…
AIKO: You should’ve told your parents that we are doing something for our project today, Christian.

Christian frowns.
Ooops, I accidentally hit a nerve.

CHRISTIAN: I don’t meddle with my parents. They don’t care about me, anyway. They’re such—“
DEVIN: Hi.

Christian jerks back a little on Devin’s sudden entrance.

CHRISTIAN: -- oh, shit. What the heck are you planning to do on scaring me? Giving me an epic heart attack?
DEVIN: My apologies.
SHARIA: Now… What kind of punishment will you get for being late?
AIKO: Clean-up job?

Sharia grins evilly to me. It’s either she liked my idea… or she have another absurd plan on mind.
Probably the latter.

SHARIA: Right! Because I hate cleaning up those little wires and it pricks my fingernails a lot…
DEVIN: Come on, are we going to think of the boy’s extra-icky-and-pricky-punishment-for-being-late thing or do our project? I mean… we have been late for an hour, so it’s rush to us now…
CHRISTIAN: Pfft, they want to blabber there all day and let a random tricycle driver harass them, let them be, Devin.

I try to stop the urge to slap him, but I can’t and I did.
There’s a red mark on Christian’s face.

CHRISTIAN: Owww! I was just joking!
SHARIA: You mean blocking.

“Blocking” or what we commonly call “pambabara” means embarrassing others. Or maybe saying an epic reply to somebody who told something weird or insulting. He once acted “mean” to us one time when Devin complained that the table was way too crowded. He said something like “are you the one owning this table” or “why are you complaining, that’s my bag, not yours so shut up”. Well, it doesn’t work on me.

AIKO: Shut up! You are the one who is late and then you are the one complaining? Let’s go or else I’m the one who’s gonna let you get harassed with a tricycle driver.
SHARIA: A MALE tricycle driver.

Christian didn’t reply and followed us to the FX terminal.
It’s still pretty empty, but at least we don’t need to wait that long to get a seat.

AIKO: Does everybody have 45 cents?

Everybody checked their wallets.

SHARIA: Yes…
DEVIN: Yup…
CHRISTIAN: ……

Silence means yes, after all.

We paid for four seats on the back. Sharia sat nearest the driver, I was beside her, and Christian sat beside me. Devin took his seat opposite of Sharia.

DEVIN: Do not disturb me while I am sulking — I mean — sleeping here on my emo corner. Reckon otherwise, I’ll send you to the wall over there.

He points to the wall overlooking the FX terminal. He sinks his head on his arms which is supported by the seat in front of us. He’s sleeping in seconds.
I don't want to add more. /shot.
