Fujoshi Falls in Love (EDIT hiatus)

This is the second project of mine to go on hold, sorry. Lately I've noticed alot of problems within the story and I can't seem to make it go smoothly. I like the original idea and would hate to drop this project completely, but for now I think it would be best to put it to the side in favor of a more developed story. Maybe a BL?

Setsuki Watanabe would probably seem like an admirable girl, after all, she's the pretty, smart class rep. But she has one major qurik, she's a total fujoshi (a die hard yaoi fan). When her friends suggest that her infatuation for yaoi might be the reason she's never had a boyfriend, Setsuki decides to put her obsession foy boys love on hold so that she can find love herself. ...But will it really be that easy?

Our optimisic and down to earth heroine. She is, in every way, a functioning person...but if it involves yaoi, she'll totally geek out.


Yoru Hanaji

He's been Setsuki's best friend and naighbor since they where kids. He's very moody and people often have a hard time getting along with him. He also loves photography.

Moriama Suzuma

Known as the "White Prince" among the girls in Setsuki's school, he's the kind and gentel student council president. He has many admierers. It's hard to get close to him because he's always busy...is it really that much work to be the student council president?

Sakura Chibia

A shy and reserved boy in Setsuki's class. No one knows much about him because no one has really talked to him. People say he's relitively well off.

I'm not quite sure about what I'll need help with at the moment, but I know I WILL NEED A PROGRAMMER. I can only make a simple VN, I couldn't make a full-on otome game to save my life XD;;

Thats all I have right now...I'm not sure when I can really start this, with school and the millions of other thing I have to work on DX

'Tis kind of an important distinction. xP

Other than that...will there be hints of BL in it, since it's about a girl who is obsessed with it? >D

(It would be funny to have a game in which you're supposedly looking for love yourself but in the 'bad' ends, you end up matchmaking the boys together and squeeing over them!)

Make sure you keep the scope of your project to what you (and other people working with you) can manage. Do you believe you can create a short story with three potential love interests? Can you live without stats or multiple endings?

If you are able/willing to create a girl x girl option, that might be an interesting twist. Perhaps Setsuki might even fall in love with another BL fan? (I just looked over the Yaoi Fangirl trope entry at http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YaoiFangirl , and saw few if any female characters who are canonically GLBT.

Also, think about how much you want your characters to follow established archetypes. One boy sounds like a typical long-time friend (see http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... hoodFriend ), and another seems like a typical white prince ( http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... hitePrince ). Do you want your characters to change, or surprise the audience?

One final note... lately there have been a few "boy meets secret otaku girl" stories. Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu was a two-season anime series based on light novels, and Ore No Imouto Ga Konna Ni Kawaii Wake Ga Nai is a current anime series based on a comic. So I'd be interested in a "girl meets secret otaku boy" story.

sorry for tangenting, but - at Yaoi-con I remember seeing at least two girl/girl couples where both were Bifauxnen! Acting out your favorite BL stories with your girlfriend? Cute.

Thanks for the advice! I like your idea of adding a GxG option, I might just do that.

As for the characters, I wanted to make them seem typicle at first so I twist it around later.
Yoru

has health and emotional issues. Along with actualy having bipoler(sp?) disorder, he's suffering from an unknown illness that is slowly takeing his sight.

Moriama

along with being a perfectionest to the point of it being a flaw (due to emotional abuse from his father) he's also trying to hide the fact that his mother has cancer and he's working himself to death at three different jobs to pay for the medicle bills.

Sakura

has a scitsophrenic(I know this is most likely spelled wrong DX) mother who snapped and and killed both his father and younger brother, makeing Sakura the nervous, withdrawn basketcase he is. He's secretly a yaoi fan himself.
