you might still remember me from a visual novel I wrote back in summer, titled "Nice Day". I was happy with it as a primary product, but I've been convinced that it wouldn't be a bad thing to actually give it some minor improvements. I regret to report that I am a great lover of presentations and speeches, so oh right I can self-edit and cull my rambling and cut right to the point.
What I'm looking for is someone who might be interested in drawing any number of art assets, at their discretion, for a short story of, at most, 15 minutes worth of reading; it's already finished, so you are guaranteed that your work will be displayed. The works I am looking for are, ideally, pictures involving scenes (they do not -need- to be CGs), but I am also interested in just BGs and just a title screen - I feel sprites would distract more than enhance, but feel free to call me a lunatic with unrealistic expectations if it so fancies you.
There are three BGs presently in use (filtered photos), and they can be replaced entirely. I think at least one actual drawn picture would already enhance the story enough, but we aim high when we aim.
As you may suspect, there is no actual monetary gain in it for you - I've briefly entertained the idea of encouraging donations to the artist and musician upon distribution, but the generosity of the internet is never a stable guarantee of income.
The work in question tells the tale of one boy, who meets one girl, falls in love, but never works up the courage to ask her out and, ultimately, comes to acquire a sad memory. I have no idea how this relates to nice days, but I used it as a title and it would be odd to change that now.
That, as they say, is the gist of the entire matter. I understand my expectations of pro bono may border on the edge of madness and that few would jump at the opportunity of lending Random Person X their assistance, but I happen to be a dreamer and have high expectations of life. It has all the ingredients for a set up for disappointment, but I hope it won't turn out to be that.
There is no set date on which I hope to release, although of course, it would be nice to finish before end of January.
If you're interested, do feel free to leave me a message, either in this thread or in my PM box. I fear telling me my hopes are too high or unrealistic won't really help - I'm aware, I'm just hoping on that tiny chance that maybe, somehow─! If they are, well, I had no art when I first released it, so if I have no art for a re-release, I really won't have lost anything on the deal.
Well, that's enough words out of me. Have at you, submit button.
