[WIP] Ohunka (Recruiting BG Artist, Programmer)

Hello all!

This is kinda new for me so bear with it at least for the first 5 seconds. After that you should feel a slight euphoria and all will be well (LOL).

I'm currently working on a VN called Ohunka. Ohunka is a Lakota word meaning 'night story' or what we English speakers would consider a bedtime story. I am currently the writer for this and tooaya (an artist on DA) has graciously come aboard to be the head artist of this deal. BUT there is still a few positions that need to be filled.

Here are the basics:

Plot: Lately, Cody Whistler's dreams have all been the same: he watches helplessly as a beautiful woman painfully, gruesomely dies. His Father considers this a byproduct of too much Vault before going to bed. His Mother however, a native Lakota, thinks the situation is much more dire. She leaves him with his Grandfather, who sends him on a vision quest to discover the meaning of his dreams. Things go from uncomfortable to strange when, out in the woods alone, Cody encounters the woman from his nightmares. Just as he saw it, she is badly wounded and slowly dying: only this time he is in a position to help save her.

But is that the answer? Are these mythical visions really leading him to save her life? Is it possible that the beings he's aiding are more sinister than they let on? One long night will lead to the truth...something deeper and grayer than Cody may be ready for.


This is, as previously stated, a visual novel. And as they plot synopsis lets on, choice will play a role. As the story moves forward I'll be filling out the extra stuff for this game. For now, lets just list what I need yes?

Misc.

1. Positions Needed: A. Background Artist- This one has been a challenge. However, for this VN I have in mind a very unique style which would need someone to do a few backgrounds. Three, possibly four simple pieces would be asked for. (River, Outdoors in a forest, etc.) B. Programmer- Have I mentioned I'm new to this VN thing? I'm giving myself as much time as possible to ensure a good product here, but that also means knowing your limits and a big, honking limit right now is that I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE THE SOFTWARE! So if there is someone here knowledgeable of VN software with some experience and a little free time, let me know.

2. Blog, Demo, etc: will all be posted as it moves forward. Stay tuned folks!
