Lol, I guess every writer can't avoid that.Snowflower wrote:SilverxBlue wrote:(I am a proofreader myself, but I'm pretty sure I make stupid mistakes when I write.)
I do that all the time too! When people tell me the mistakes, I am always astonished by how I missed such little errors!

Just a little bump, and I just wanted to post the prologue's statistics.
Statistics:
The game contains 1,086 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 8,633 words,
for an average of 7.9 words per screen.
The game contains 14 menus.
Not yet final though, planning to add a few things here and there.
I'll be posting the screenshot of the main menu soon, so Juryia where are you now? I need your great works of art.
Oh, and if some of you are wondering why there are a helluva lot of menus for such a short game, I tried making a short quiz at the end of the game so that consists most of the menus. The real game only has 5 or 6.

Re: Caught in between GxB (WIP). Update(April 15, 2011) 1st
This project is not dead but will be put on hold till mid-June since the sprite artist, Elze will be busy and she'll be doing her own thing.
Please don't get mad at us but I swear this project will not die! (I won't let it!)
But, I have a bit of good news the childhood prologue will be released this week or next week (Once the proofreading and music making is done) but its still the first version and it only has two CGs, the second version will have a cooler main menu look and a grand total of six CGs.
But if my CG artists has decided to abandon me because they've been totally MIA (I really hope they haven't forgotten about me.
)
Then I won't be releasing a second version anymore.

I think it just comes with the job. When you're actively proofreading, you catch all that stuff because you're specifically focusing on finding it.
When you're writing, you're not just putting words on paper, you're also shaping your ideas, thinking of new things as you write down what you already have, figuring out ways to get what you want across just the way you want it..
You've got all that going on so you don't notice quite so much if you happen to make a typo or break a few grammar rules. That's why we do a first (second, third, fourth) draft. Mine always go through a few drafts, and even then I'm not always completely sure if I like everything about it. Being a perfectionist can suck sometimes.
