Re: Turnip in Love
@riviera: xD
I'll try to make her a little smarter than the turnips in common xD
probably she'll do something stupid too though, she's a turnip after all ^^
*imagine a human try to eat dirt and shower sugar water on her foot...
LOL!
Hahaha, so funny, but poor her, I'll make her smarter than that...
or maybe not? 3:D
Already think silly things in the story for her and her 'friend'
This will be fun after all! :3 nyahaha~
I hope this will be finished with no problem in the progress.
I'm not rushing though, so I can make this better? I think.

Re: Turnip in Love
Haha no problem! We're kind of the same. If I like a particular character I draw, he looks better than the others!
I am kinda imagining Kabuko with lime green hair. She is a turnip after all. Maybe that could give you some idea?

Actually I want to make her hair green, but it's not realistic.Julie wrote:Haha no problem! We're kind of the same. If I like a particular character I draw, he looks better than the others!

Then I think again, If they have green eyes and honey brown eyes (for ppl in Japan)
Then why not a green hair?
I'll make her hair green. It's more beautiful that way I think.
Well I finished the chibi for sakuya <3, but the sprite still ugly T^T,
I think I overdo it....will fix it again~ :3
I think I start to fall into chibiness~ (now that's a problem, I'll be addicted in drawing chibi's)
xD
Re: Turnip in Love
Haha! A cellphone. Of course. Typical for a playboy character. I have such a weak spot for chibis. <3 As for the sprite, I think it doesn't balance well with Keita's sprite since Sakuya's sprite does not have any outlines. The first one looked better imo. But the red streak on his hair looks better on this one. ^^
And yeah I think she will look better with green hair. Most characters look good with any hair color as long as the style is good really. XD

Well I'll try to fix it again and again and again until it's good and balanced
Finished Kabuko, and her chibi version~
Hm... still not quite right I think...
Could you give any suggestion again? How bout now?
and I fix Keita a bit...
Re: Turnip in Love
Hehe, well, she may be smart but the first day I'm sure she'll still try to do things like she's used to.. XDDDDYuukiCrossPudding wrote:@riviera: xD

Re: Turnip in Love
i try to make my first ever BG
I hope it's not that bad, give critic? or suggestions? maybe there's something weird? Is it blend with the sprite??
and I try to use photoshop, I don't know if this right or not T^T
Day Night and the kitchen at night.
Hm... -_-'
After 2 and half hours of struggling....
My second BG >_< Now I know how hard is it to make a BG.... especially interior T_T

Well, I think that the sprites match the background style! :O I also liked how you made the house look at night. XDD I need some practice on night scenes with some lights myself... xDD

Re: Turnip in Love
Thanks! I'm quite nervous, this is the first time I edit the photo into a night scene, well kind of try to change the brightness, hue, saturation etc.Elenakiara wrote:Well, I think that the sprites match the background style! :O I also liked how you made the house look at night. Now I'm making the kitchen! xD
*NOO, the chair!! the chair!!! it's horrible!!!*
Re: Turnip in Love
Sprites look great. Only quibbles there are that his hand on the book looks a bit odd, and his other arm seems a bit too long. Did far better than I would, that's for sure!
I'd also add a bit of shading to the picture of the house during the daytime, to make it look more 3d.
Overall, nice job.
People think brightly colored hair would stand out and look really odd.. but forget that hair dye is pretty easy to get ahold of. The other characters will likely think she's just some wild kid that likes green. XD

Re: Turnip in Love
I think your backgrounds are fine with your sprites C:
Just a couple of things thing, though...
On the first background, it seems you used a very soft/blurry brush with the trees, and it makes them look like green clouds/smoke ^^; fix tYou could try using a harder brush and not make them so blurry.
I like the thick dark lines on the second background, but the first background doesn't have them, so they look inconsistent ( like different people did them in different styles). You may want to fix one or the other so they look more consistent.

When drawing something, anything, USE REFERENCES!! Use your Google-fu!
Don't trust your memory, and don't blindly trust what others teach you either.
Research, observation, analysis, experimentation and practice are the key! (:

maybe I'll fix the other character too, lol
But after finish all of the BG first, and then I'll remake it again and again and again and again... xD
I think this will be a hard work and need much time T^T

and I'll redo the house BG,
Yay!
Now I'll make the other BG with the same style as the kitchen one.
yesterday I'm bit confused what kind of style I should take :3
Thank you again~

I think that your night scene is really good, especially for a first try! :3 For the light around the window, did you use one of those brushes are pale and a little bit like a cloud? xDDYuukiCrossPudding wrote:Thanks!
