The only online sequencer I knew was noteflight (http://www.noteflight.com/login), haha...

Try magix music maker its pretty good you dont get much in the free version though but its a pretty good system

Ooh, I remember how I started music: MMM was still at its first stages, yet I was making songs that seemed to please my few friends.
That's where I learned the concepts of modules, tempo, composition (introduce the instruments one by one, drum rolls before important moments, etc)
So much memories T_T

Haven't heard about *online* composing tools. LMMS is pretty good though IME.
