Re: Opening Vid
I use After Effects for animations because that is what I use at work. It's a professional standard software. However, it does come with a hefty price tag, especially if you want to go around buying plug ins. I'm sure there are some cheaper or free options available. You can also code animation into Renpy, but that can get a little extreme.

Re: Opening Vid
I made my opening video for (P)lanets with Vegas Movie Studio 9.
It's pretty cheap and you can do a lot of nifty things once you figure out all the tools.

Re: Opening Vid
I use Premiere Pro, and like what Auro-Cyanide said, Adobe software costs an arm and leg to buy.
I'm not sure how advanced of an opening you would want, but you might try using movie maker (It handles basic animations if I remember right)

The other thread is here: http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... =4&t=12358
In a different section and everything. For what it's worth, I use Anime Studio Pro. If I had money, I'd use Adobe Premiere. I had a student version once, and I loved it.
