Name Dump
Have you ever thought of an uber awesome name, but didn't know a character that fit it? Or do you struggle to find decent sounding names for your characters, like I do? Well, this is the place for you~ Lately, I can never think of good names, and I thought, "Hey, why don't I make a topic about this for all the other name-creating-challenged people. LOL, I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this problem, but now's the time to find out. XD

I have the problem too!
Re: Name Dump
I think the NaNoWriMo forums ( http://www.nanowrimo.org/forums/adoptio ... hreads/919 ) are a good place for the name-chalenged people to start. Other good site I always use is this one http://www.20000-names.com
Re: Name Dump
Moved this topic to Skill Development, since it's about developing character names.
My advice is to find names that mean something about your character. For example, if one of your characters was born in winter and has a cool, reserved attitude, you may name them something that relates to ice or snow; or if you have a hero character, you might find a name that has a heroic definition. One of my hero characters is named "Claus" because it means "Victory to the people" (according to the website I found the name on, ha).
It may seem weird, but baby name websites can be helpful. I particularly like this one: http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/ You can look up keywords for meanings, view popular names, and there's even ratings for names. The coolest thing is if there's multiple meanings/origins for a name it'll be listed in the name description.
