looking for an artist for my manga comic-strip

#1 Post by Der Tor » Sat Jun 27, 2009 6:24 am

Hi guys,
you probably all know my (mostly) german comic-strip by now.
Thing is... it's been going quite well for a while but than our artist got like actually kinda good and stuff and got offered some cool job as a graphic designer or something (being able to reference the comic strip helped). But so now she doesn't have time anymore to continue drawing for our comic-strip-manga thingy

So now we are looking for an artist to carry the manga on... anyone interested?

Even though it's gonna be in german, we where working on an english version anyway, so being able to understand german isn't required - but it would a plus

those other two drawings are getting pretty old and I noticed a lot of errors

so I decided to draw a rough skecth of your character in manga studio with my bamboo tablet.

And I also inked it manga studio in order to show a more refined version.

While it has heart, fan, I think that you need to lurk the Art/Works/Music board more...

I'm really interested ^_^

Too bad I don't have manga strip to show you as an example, but several of my arts lurk in this forum.

BTW, what software do you usually use? Mangastudio?

Question :?:

How much drawing do you need?

Is it a 4 or 5 panel comic strip or a full blown one?

How frequent do you publish... once a week, once a month?

Well we started out with the idea of doing one strip a week... then we kinda reduced it to monthly... and now we are halfway through the story but don't have any artist anymore so we would gladly take any help we can get... even one every half year would be an improvement right now

Here are some example of our english ones:

and here is a single image for Christmas:

We had different artists before so everyone has his own style, and that's totally alright...

You can find the rest on our No-Neets webpage. We also already finished the entire story and all the jokes, we just need someone willing to continue drawing it. Our past artists just did the drawings and then i usually added the speech bubbles and the text and stuff myself.

This is an example of Nami and Hotdog in my drawing style. I think they are too cute that she isn't Nami we know anymore -_-

This is a sketch of Nami's room. I want to fiddle around with her room since it seems to empty ^_^

I totally get what you mean after seeing all the errors on it I decided to redo the drawing over again and it even came out out better even with using my tablet.
