Oh, maybe I didn't understand the instructions. I thought you have to draw one of the 3 assignments. The man, nature or the weekly pose? I chose the weekly pose.

I'm not at home right now and borrowing somebody's computer to update the new weekly themes. I'll comment about the posts by lepapillonrouge, ra-nyan, neowired and dstarsboy on Monday once I'm home again!

I tried to give more room for creations other than drawings this week, so I hope they're better than the previous ones!
You can check out the new themes on the first post C:

Well instead of picking just one theme, I made two of them ^^

Small Town:Revolving City

Mood Swing: Omoide

Hmm maybe I'll also do the pretty woman theme... Or draw it XD

Oooh! I'd like to do all three of these. I have a question though, about the small town. I want to do it as if it was a BG for a VN. Are these all done in... uh, is it called one point perspective? Like the perspective dot is at the dead center of the image?

You can do your VN BGs in one-point perspective if you want to; it's up to you. Take a look at - say - the corridor in Jisei for an example. However, two-point (e.g. the main café room in Jisei) tends to look more interesting and realistic, and there's nothing stopping you going for three-point if you want. I'd personally probably steer clear of more than three-point for BGs, but it still might well work for event CGs.

I find myself lacking at both the topics. But here is something from me.

The woman looks a bit too young
The town looks more like a village ; p

Adding to the music practice. I... really haven't ever composed anything before, actually. Does anyone know/have some good tutorials/books/advice?

Small Town: Made in Garageband. A seaside town theme, perhaps? (It's really short too, orz)

@ Umemi: it's nice, but I's work on the flute bit. There's a particular moment in which the flute seems to stumble and doesn't really go well with the rest of the melody.

@celectis: Do you come from y!Gallery by any chance? I get the feeling I know your style (and I /did/ advertise for Renpy, there, so I wouldn't be surprised if people from there got here). :3

(I have an account there just to collect artists.)

There are a few imperfections here and there, such as his left nipple being too far on the side, and some problems with symmetry, but on the other hand, the face is the most masculine (and pleasingly so) I've seen on this thread. Props, you've got a great style, which I'm going to reference myself, for this exercise, if you don't mind!
Very nice colouring too; your drawing is an example of how someone with great skills can still do an amazing job while drawing a sketch. Reminds me a bit of Hotel Dusk, which is a plus!

Can't critique much, I'm afraid.

omg fail I just realized I did the wrong weekly theme...HAHAHAH...DOH. I saw the first few pics and went with it. Orz;;;

@Ren: And I do have a Y!gal, but i dont use it often. :D I've actually joined renpy because a friend mentioned it awhile back when she considered making a game and have made many unsuccessful attempts at a VN myself XDD. Also, thanks for the critiques! Yeah, he has many issues with anatomy ; u ; and partly it's because I doodled it quickly thinking that there was a deadline in 30mins...EVEN IF I DREW FOR THE WRONG THEME;;; And haha ; w ; I'm kinda flattered you'd compare it to Hotel Dusk. I love that game. <3

@Aqu: omg, you're hawt. D:
