I have to go to bed so I'll comment tomorrow, here's my big guy, haven't drawn one of those muscular types since teenagehood =D

Something is off I think around his waist, maybe too large to give his figure dynamism, but after reducing it it looks even more off. I'm all for being redlined if anybody feels like it, just so it's clear.

Upper arms are a little too short, I think. I don't see much problems with the waist. Also, his facial hair might be going into the range of chimpanzee instead of human...unless that's intentional.

Manly chimp FTW.

This is an awesome idea : D
I guess I should have made him look older, but anyways, this is my attempt at a manly man xD

Ahh.... I fail so much at manly men XD but the point is I DID IT!

I also got one upped on the manly man in pink joke D< damn you pyonkitchi!!! (and yours is so much better that tutu killed me....)

...So yes

Here is my manly man of the... pirate variety(He has an eyepatch and a random hook hand)? And who happens to enjoy cooking mostly naked in his nice little manly apron.

oh, so many manly men here! xD

I'm glad you guys are up to the exercise C:

Remember to look at references if you're lost, of course~

Now my dump... that ended up being mostly a faces dump (most of them based off photographs), since I tend to draw round faces for guys all the time and they end up looking feminine >>; Manly Men are square-ish >O!!

Omg, the tutu and the apron! That made my day. Real men wear pink.... and bake cookies. Then I saw deji's and the guy on the upper right corner reminded me of James Bond. So the next thought that came to mind was James Bond baking cookies xD

Haha this week thema looks like fun for drawers.
Since I've not drawn for ages and could only show you doodles, I thought I'd come up with some music theme instead.

Tough guy Here

I'm glad two people have done music this week!

Lekhaka's tune makes me think on one of those random encounters on fields on an RPG. I'm pretty much expecting the sounds of the GUI and skills and battle cries from the characters and hit sounds to pop up! *o*
Yummy's tune really makes me think of a tough guy! Or maybe a fight scene against a tough guy on the back alley of a club or something like that... cool!

I wished I'd have more music knowledge to give you a more meaningful critique than that ;_;

-----------

About the manly guys~~ Rawr~~~xD I haven't commented on the yet, let me see... I'm not very good with men's anatomy myself (reason #1 to pick this theme in the first place), but I'll try my best to comment on everybody C: You'll probably find more help looking at an anatomy book than reading me, though ^^;

Jake: Lol at Zangief xD He's the incarnation of this week's theme! Love him~~ And yes, I think the arm has a problem there, the upper part looks very short... Maybe extend the line of the upper part of the arm towards the elbow? (Does that even make sense? Sorry, I'm bad at explaining things in English x_x) And the wrist of his left hand looks not quite right to me, though I'm not sure why D: Maybe it's the thickness... maybe try shading that area a bit more? I like his beard, by the way~~ I'm getting old here, now I like bearded guys >>;

---
blakjak: Reading Lekhaka's comment, he does look Ape-ish :O Gives him an "The jungle is my kingdom, rawr!" feel, I like it C: I agree his upper arm is a bit short too, and the waist... Maybe he has so much muscle there he can't even bend! Making everything waist-down thinner would help, I think, and it'll also give the impression of even broader chest and shoulders, which is always good for manryness~

----
AQU: Your guys is really cool! But he's a bit on the thin side to be super manly, I think he's still pretty bishie with that white long hair, hehe~~ at least that's the impression it gives me. I think it may be his head being a tad large in proportion to his shoulders and torso... I like his bullet wound scars <3

---
Pyonkotchi: LOL xD; I think what bothers me the most is his thin neck, Manly muscular men have wide necks like tree trunks! >O (ok, not that thick, but you get the idea x'D)

---
Starling: Points for trying! xD I think you could use smaller eyes (eye), big eyes are for sissies! xD Try doodling guys from photographs like I did, it'll help you understand how they're "built" better C:

---
azraillesama You missed the scars and the facial hair :P

Nobody is taking nature elements? boo~ I'll try to do something with that later today :P

EDIT:
Went to my garden and picked some leaves and one flower (it's winter here, all the rest of the plants were flower-less D:) and drew/painted them.
leavesandflower.jpg
Ah, the smell of freshly cut plants is filling my desk now, so nice~ C:

So about 9:00 am, I saw this thread, and I thought, hey, why don't I do something? Even though I don't usually draw, I had...nothing better to do so I decided to be a rebel and not draw a manly man hurhurhur

at 5:30 pm, this was the result -cries-

Image

Sigh.

It reminded me of why I don't draw that often XD
---
Hey, we need a story >D We're visual novel makers aren't we~?
Maybe I'll do that too...

Oh, girly manly men and azraille's face FTW.

Sucks a bit but I was in a hurry >.>

And btw, in my art classes, when I was 16, they gave us a naked girl (a berating one ; p) to draw, nothing special about it (no, no panties, you could see the pussy and all) I can tell you no one was offended, surprised or seemed uncomfortable. She seemed quite boring after standing there for 6 hours or so in one pose (she had breaks)
When it comes to nudity in art and law, nudity is perfectly ok as long as it's not "sexual" poses with specifically exposed genitals or sexual items like dildos.
When it comes to nudity in real life, the social elements, It strongly depends on the situation. It would anger people to see someone nude in the middle of a city but not so much in their garden and a nudist beach or public bath would be perfectly ok. Think about it, it's pretty interesting stuff and real life rules can be extrapolated to art (if you draw someone naked in a bathtub it won't be as shocking as someone naked in a bus)
As for ancient art, I believe India has temples full of sculptures depicting sex in rather visual ways.

Bah, I didn't get to work on this until tonight but better late than never.

Here's my submission for critique. I did the sword girl because she was so FREAKY! I made the girl skinnier and gave her a cooler sword (don't ask me how that goes into it's holder, lol!)

Also, I'm going to post how I went about and did it. I'm not an artist by any means, this is the first thing I've drawn in a long time, so if anyone sees something I'm doing wrong, please let me know. For example, am I doing too many revisions before inking? It felt like alot of work. Am I going overboard with the shading? I'm sure I have some body proportions off somewhere too.

Your drawings are good, the pose is okay, the colors and tones okay too... But I don't understand why you drew a woman, sisn't the assessment about drawing a tough guy?
