Here is a quick pencil exercise I did for the Main Character:
I got this from an old meme on deviant art: http://napalmnacey.deviantart.com/art/2 ... s-55523083
You can tell that halfway through I decided to change the way I drew her hair.

Re: 25 Essential Expressions
Wow, 25 essential expressions?? That sure is a lot! :O All I can comment on is to say that, for time consuming purposes, that 24 would be better, as rage and angry are somewhat similar. xD But they do all really represent all and any expressions... Except maybe an in-love one which would be a mix of drunk and flirty!

Re: 25 Essential Expressions
I forgot about this, thank you for posting! I should do some sketches to get ideas for sprites since I'm always like "Oooh, then she'll do this..." when I'm writing and when I get into Photoshop I'm like "uhh..." ^_^;
I like "flirty" the best. She's got those 60s-esque eyes *w*

Re: 25 Essential Expressions
I realized that it didn't have embarrassed or nervous so I crossed out fierce and put embarrassed.
It was a great exercise, At the end of it I was able to draw the character more consistently without as made erasures.

Re: 25 Essential Expressions
For making sprites in VN, you don't need all these 25 expression. But for practicing (or making manga), this is a valuable training material.
