choklit's art stuffs

#1 Post by choklitchan » Thu Mar 24, 2011 6:44 pm

]I've been around this forum for a while, but haven't really done much. So here's art dumpage from my stuffs. ^_^

I love drawing; though I wish I was better. And I can't color very well. I just recently got a tablet, so I hope I can get better with some help. If anyone's willing, I'm thinking about finding a colorist to help me out with the VN I'm making. The game'll be free (oh, how i love free <3), so the schedule will be pretty laid-back. I'm looking for a fire-emblem style colorist who can manage texture and depth well. If you're interested, feel free to pm me and we'll see if we can work something out. Or just pm just cuz. :)

Oh, and could someone point me to a good coloring tutorial? I've browsed online, but I'm always looking for more stuff.

Meanwhile, here's my stuffs. Questions, comments, and critiques are greatly appreciated.. ^_^

A full-length picture of the MC for the VN I'm making, Ivari, at age 18. I haven't posted it in WIP because I want to get more of the script and art done before I commit it anywhere. Still getting used to my lovely new tablet, so please excuse inconsistencies in the lineart.

Told ya I I'm not much good at coloring. XD
Another character from my VN, Mischach. I love BISHIES. :D I enjoy drawing bishies better than most of my girls, though Ivari is interesting to draw.

I created this style of mine sometime back in 11th grade. I love the cartoon-style and my music. Drawn and inked by hand. I played around with the idea of putting this series on shirts and earning an extra buck or two... Wonder if anyone would wear it?
angel 2.jpg
A bit old; but I love playing with tones. I draw some manga too, though my stories stay mostly in my head. I use this angel to gauge my progress; every year I try to redraw her and see how much I've improved, or not, since last year. This is last year's image; about time to remake her, come to think of it. Hmmmm. This was inked by hand, but I added the tones via mangastudio debut.
Roy mustang fan art 2copy.jpg
Okay, this was my FMA phase. XD
I have a soft spot for Roy, I hafta admit. Inked by hand. This is the first and last piece of fanart I ever completed. Haha, Roy collecting FMA figures. :P I dunno WHAT I was thinking.

Your art is lovely. You have a really versatile style which is awesome. Many artists can't draw more than one style :< .
I hope this is a A-okay coloring tutorial for you: http://fav.me/d279ioo
It's pretty popular on DA ;) .

:D Thank you, I'm happy you like it. I sometimes wonder if I wander too much; I'm trying to find a style that's uniquely "my own", so having someone say it's a good thing is encouraging. :)

Thank you very much for that link! I've never seen that tutorial; I learned several things just reading through it once. It will be a great resource.

Ooh, I quite like your stuff! You seem to have a slightly different style for each picture, but I think having multiple styles is also beneficial. It's good to be able to draw in more than just one way. :)

Also, I think your inking and toning look quite good. <3
