window hide with dissolve not working?

It used to work... I swear I didn't do anything strange...

    "Long Haired Guy" "No one can resist FREE Eat-All-You-Can buffet. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!"
    "Long Haired Guy" "Anyway... I already made the necessary preperations including contingency plans in case things screw up a bit."

    window hide 
    with dissolve
    
    $ renpy.pause(2.0, hard=True)
    
    scene bg_last_stop_day with dissolve

    $ renpy.pause(2.0, hard=True)
    
    window show 
    with dissolve
    
    lucy_n "Uwa... so many showed up..."
    "Long Haired Guy" "See?... told you no one can resist FREE Eat-All-You-Can buffet."

The window show is working fine though... just the window hide no longer accepts dissolve...
