Have no idea how long it took for Editra to finally install, but I got it now O: Editra's pretty sweet and the spellcheck works perfectly, but there's this line thing running down the window :/

That normal or is something up with it? Besides what's been pointed out already, I haven't found any more errors (that a common user would run into, I'm not going into complex code >_>).

I haven't changed anything in my code, just ran the game from the 6.14 launcher. But now when I rollback through NVL scenes, this happens. And when I click through, sometimes more random paragraphs are repeated three times... It's not very consistent with which lines it chooses to repeat, but it's always three times and this only ever happens after I rollback.

Noticed this too. I first thought I butchered my code somewhat, but anquick scan showed no changes to NVL mode in my project

Regarding the NVL error, even reloading the game or closing it and re-opening it again doesn't get rid of that NVL error if you've saved before it. The only way to get rid of it that I've seen is to rollback to a previous NVL scene (then THAT scene will have the triple lines) and then progress to the NVL scene you started on. Then the NVL scene that originally had the triple lines will be back to normal.

That line is there to show you how many characters you could fit on a 1928 IBM-standard punchcard.

(If it bothers you, you can turn it off by going into Edit -> Preferences, choosing the 'Document' category and the 'Code' tab, and then unchecking the "Edge Guide" option.)

Jack, I'm pretty sure that's not the function that's having problems, if only because "snd/sfx" is not mentioned in it.

(I'll check out the NVL problem tonight.)

Haha sorry posted the wrong function!! :D
Will try to find the right one, but I mean, before it was working fine and is in the battles, so something that gets called very frequent (like every turn).
edit: maybe the difference could be that in previous version, if a sound file wasn't found on the disk, it simply wouldn't play it but report no error?

That's it.

In 6.14, sound errors are now reported if config.developer is set to True. (I've added a note about this in the changelog.)

In general, it's a really phenomenally bad idea to constantly ask Ren'Py to play sound files that don't exist, and rely on the error handling.

Yes that's absolutely true indeed :) I am not sure if you improved that aspect too but the game (Loren) seems to run faster, but is hard to judge because I now run it on a more powerful PC...

I didn't do any performance work directly, but Ren'Py is now built with newer compilers and libraries. So it's possible those have helped improve Ren'Py.

Okay, now I'm having trouble with the web updater... Thought I'd try to put it in just to test it. Whenever I try to add an update button (or an update hotspot, etc) I get an error that says: "Exception: ui.interact called with non-empty widget/layer stack. Did you forget a ui.close() somewhere?" (here's the traceback)

This is what my button/hotspot/whatever action looks like:

Even if I take the simulate or restart parts out, the same error pops up. Am I just doing something horribly wrong or what? D:

Err if I use updater.Update (with the capital "u") the button will at least show up, but then when clicked, it tells me "global name 'args' is not defined". (here's the traceback for THAT)

As a fun little tip for everyone waiting for the update due out in the next few days:

In Editra, go to Edit, Preferences, Document, Code, and then check "Indentation Guides".

(We should probably have an Editra Tips thread once 6.14 is out.)

It would be cool if some options were off by default (edge guide), and other on (indentation guides, useful for python). Right now if I have a project with 10 .rpy files need to turn off the guide to each one :lol:
The updater looks cool, will use it extensively. It supports updating inside mac app packages, right?
