More text tags?

I think it would be useful to have more general text tags (

Something I'd like to see even more is custom text tags. Currently you could e.g. have your own say handler and perform (limited) transformational work on the text between your custom tags, but it won't take effect everywhere tags can be used (e.g. on screens) so a more general solution to that would be nice.

There are, in fact, User-defined Text Tags, but I'm not sure how they work. There are no examples in the doc.

Oh right, I forgot about those.
I think those work like this: {=example_style}Testing{/}
with a style defined somewhere:
They wouldn't work for all caps / small caps unless you have an all caps / small caps font. I don't know if they would even work for subscript/superscript since you can't really add an offset or something to them, so it's pretty limited. I'd say the main use is if you frequently specify a particular set of text styles through tags to show certain things:

instead, replace it with a style:
