I've suddenly contracted an issue across all Ren'Py projects that, although windowed display continues to work fine, fullscreen display actually just causes the game to display in a small borderless frame in the top-left of the screen, as shown in the screenshots attached. This is occurring over the demo projects as shown in addition to all of my own.
I'm running a high-DPI Windows display (3840x2160) and the most recent Ren'Py version (6.99.8) has apparently added features/support in this vein, so I'm fairly sure there's a connection there - this has only occurred after that update.

Can you try the 6.99.9 nightlies (from http://nightly.renpy.org) to see if it's fixed there?

Actually, on the nightly, fullscreen mode does work as intended, but when switched from windowed to fullscreen just shows nothing but black. The game hasn't crashed though and continues to run without visuals.
Also, perhaps on a related graphical note, the mouse cursor (using a custom image) seems to have suddenly begun lagging considerably more than before. I can only assume all these issues are related to the new high-DPI display updates.

Oh, another update... checking 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings' does stop the weird corner-only behaviour from occurring, but not the glitch when switching from window to fullscreen or the newly-introduced cursor lag...

I'm not sure if it is a known issue already, but I also have the issue when switching between windowed and full screen mode: black screen only - game continues to run.
The full screen does work now on highdpi display since the update which fixed that, so I have been working around the issue by closing the game after selecting full screen then opening it again (which remembers the preference).
I haven't noticed the cursor lag issue (or if I have it hasn't been consistent like the switching display modes problem).
