i've been away from Ren'Py for a while, but now that i updated to the latest version i can't start any projects in Arabic
i keep getting this error
Error creating a new project
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'group'
it halts the whole process, i don't even get an error log to see what is causing it
observations:
1- it only happens when the launcher is set to Arabic (which i need to do to start projects so they display the characters right to left and intact)
2- it doesn't happen when i start a new project in English
3- it only happens to the new GUI, the old one starts a new project just fine
4- i started a new project in English and then changed the options so the characters show right to left, and it turned out just fine, no errors.
I don't want to have to do the workaround every time, and it's hardly inviting for newcomers, so i'm hoping i can find some help
i tested out a bunch of stuff like replacing the arabic template files, quoting out some lines that i thought were causing the problem (even config.rtl = True, which seemed to be outdated now) but i couldn't find the actual source of the problem 8(
any ideas?
