I don't have the latest great (sarcasm) Apple OS "snow leopard" myself, but from what I heard/read around internet, it seems that most of the "old" 32-bit apps won't work on it (it is a 64-bit OS). That could mean all renpy games!
Was wondering if anyone can confirm this, and in this case if PyTom will update it in future? (I hope so)
Right now I think the new OS isn't spread at all but probably in a few months will, following the awesome Apple policy to force their loyal customers to "buy buy buy buy".
Fun that I can still play Renpy games on windows 2000 without any problems (an almost TEN YEARS old OS from MS) and instead I can't already play them on Mac Os lower than 10.4 (less than 5 years old).
I was an Apple fan.

Re: Renpy on Snow Leopard
Ren'Py runs just fine on Snow Leopard.
Also, Ren'Py could run on 10.3, but it's not compiled for it. If you really need that, there's a build on the KS forums. But nobody cares.
Apart from that, you seem to hang around in catastrophically uninformed places. Here's all you need to know.

Re: Renpy on Snow Leopard
Yes well, almost nobody has 10.3 anymore, so that wasn't a problem
Cool to know that renpy runs fine on 10.6 though!

Re: Renpy on Snow Leopard
Ok so I have NO direct experience. But a friend of mine said: "the apps works if people did an upgrade from a previous OS (like 10.5) to snow leopard, because it gets installed in 32-bit mode. If you do a clean install, the OS 10.6 is installed in 64-bit mode by default, and so renpy (and other) software doesn't work".
He said he tried it, it's not a rumour he heard in forums.
So... hope pyTom will have plan to satisfy yet this new Apple upgrade

Re: Renpy on Snow Leopard
10.6 uses a 64 bit kernel only on new Xserves by default, so unless your target audience are very poor server admins for very rich companies you aren't missing out on much. And even then, it will still run 32-bit apps, only 32-bit kexts won't work. Last I heard Ren'Py wasn't a kernel device driver.
P.S. I am actually writing this from 10.6.0 running the 64-bit kernel now. Ren'Py runs fine (as do the other 32-bit apps, like iTunes - what a surprise), your friend is wrong, case closed.
