Android Ren'Py!

I've been working for the past few weeks on porting Ren'Py to Android. Last weekend, I managed to get the dependencies, including pygame working. Today, I spent some time on Ren'Py proper. The result:
Now, don't overestimate what I have working. The video output system is nothing like the one I intend to use in the final version, and there's no sound or anything like that. And there's no sane way to package games, or use an existing game. So there's still a few more weeks of work to be done - but the first steps have been taken.
Before I forget, let me thank Ren for supporting the Ren'Py on Android development.

This looks very promising, and I now rue the day I went with an iPhone.

Serves them right for putting so many restrictions on their platform.

Yup! What we need now is PS3/Xbox 360/Wii portability! Then we, novelists, will be able to conquer teh world and make everybody else our slaves!

Right now, I have it scaling things down to fit the screen - it'll be up to the game-maker to choose font sizes that look reasonable on Android.
I'm not 100% I know the right behavior, yet - so suggestions would be appreciated.

Ah, finally!

This is quite exciting and I'm willing to help in any way, so if you'll need to test things or get some info, feel free to call me.
As far as I know, there are two most popular resolutions on android smartphones: 480x320 and 800x480. Both are big enough for art used in VN, but it's sure that it will look better on larger screens. There are also some older models which use 320x240 screen, but I doubt anyone uses them with android systems. Fore examples, get some screen caps from VNDB and look them up on your phone. Almost every VN with SVGA resolution is readable on my 480x320 screen, so I don't see a problem they wouldn't be readable on larger ones and graphics scalling on those phones is gorgeus - the art looks even better than on PC monitors

It might be really awesome to see them on amoled screens...
I can't wait to see a good VN made with Ren'Py, running on android smartphone

How do you foresee the release process of games on Android? Will it just be a separate launcher (different method of compilation), or will some Ren'Py functionality have to be deprecated? Will games with extra python functionality work as they are, since pygame is as you said, working?
