Ren'Py for Android: The Question Test
Re: Ren'Py for Android: The Question Test
@PyTom: Sorry about the video quality/mirroring. I'll use a different camera next time.
The new build works perfectly on my phone. The loading screen was a bit off center the first time I ran the game, but multiple loads seemed to align the screen. I'll try to reinstall the game to see if I can capture the off center loading screen for you. I can also post a video of playing through the entire game, if it will help.
The only thing I'm slightly puzzled about is the in-game menu. I invoked it randomly once before, but I didn't pay attention to the gesture I used (one finger hold, two finger hold, two finger pinch/spread, and so on). Is there a specific gesture to open the menu?

You can get at the in-game menu by hitting the phone's menu button.

Re: Ren'Py for Android: The Question Test
Runs like a charm on HTC Desire (edit: Running Android 2.2). The only problem I saw is that the loading screen shows some random graphics outside its left/right borders (since the image is less wide than the device screen). As soon as the game starts this is solved, since a black bar is shown on the left, and the game screen is right-aligned. I guess that's on purpose?
Congratulations, this is absolutely amazing!

Actually, there are still a couple bugs left that I'm working on. The loading screen glitch is one of them, and the placement of the screen is another.

Re: Ren'Py for Android: The Question Test
As far as I can tell it works perfectly (though I am new to Renpy in general so I might have missed some non-obvious bug).
I have a Samsung Galaxy S (I9000) with Froyo (Android 2.2) (rooted and with a lagfix).

Cool. There will be a new version in a few days - I just released a new Pygame for Android, but there are still a couple of bugs in Ren'Py for android.
The new version will begin to support development.

Re: Ren'Py for Android: The Question Test
Just tried to install this app on my zenithink zt-180 tablet. Game starting, but instead of title picture I got just a bunch of color lines. Is anything I can do here? Thanks.

Can you grab Moonlight Walks from the market? It might work better for you.

Re: Ren'Py for Android: The Question Test
Hmm, same thing with "Moonlight walk". But I found some game called "Broken Hearted Demo 9/11 Story":
https://market.android.com/details?id=e ... rch_result
and it's looks look ren'py game too. And it's working OK. Does "The question" and "Moonlight" just incompatible with my device, or this "BrokenHeart" using other engine, not Ren'Py for Android?

Re: Ren'Py for Android: The Question Test
Broken Hearted isn't using Ren'Py. (And is a port in questionable taste, IMO - even though the license allows it, taking someone's work and putting an ad on it isn't really a good idea. Also, removing the timeline that's such an important part of that story.)
