Yes, it's arm-only for the time being.
Sad, because it would be a much easier way to test android games without owning a phone.

Doesn't it take utf-8 already?

Seems like it doesn't.
It says "Untitled" to this.

See next post and android.txt there.

The problem was in UTF-trailer (so-named B.O.M.)...
But after removing it I get something like "9 D1/4D°N[]" instead of "9 мая". As far as i know, it's latin1252 encoding.

PS Another bugreport:
* I open RenPy, start any game
* after some play, i do nothing and wait until the system goes for a sleep to save some battery
* i wake up the phone
* i see message, that the phone is locked for a while. OS freezes. Android 2.2 does not respond, the screen goes black, but the music from renpy is still playing
* system is rebooted after some time, bug can be reproduced again and again and behavior is always the same

Can't... seem to download/install this on my Xperia. Wonder what's wrong. Gonna play around for a bit more before I start asking silly questions again =(

Noticing the last post on this is in February, and that we're now in May, has there been any updates to the Android port? I've been playing with PhoneGap Build as well as Kwiksher, and did enough with Adobe AIR to understand why hardly anyone is releasing with that, but it would obviously be great to push forward with the RenPy version. Besides, my Android Market license is getting rusty and I haven't had an excuse to create a signed APK in forever... :-)

Hey Tom,

Been a fan of Ren'Py for a while now, and would love to be able to use ren'ai on my phone, but I just can't get it to work!

When I downloaded 'the question' and 'Moonlight Walks' they open in the Android Menu as stand-alone applications with their icons. If I go in to 'Ren'Py for Android I get a message saying 'No projects are available to launch. Please place a project into /mnt/sdcard/renpy and restart this application...'

I'm not sure what the 'mnt' stands for but I've added a folder called renpy to my phone's SD card and within that placed another folder called 'House' and included the launch, nomedia and android txt documents (and an icon.png), and within that the 'game' file that includes the script.rpy and the options.rpy.

The game runs fine on PC, so there must be something I'm not doing properly, any ideas at all?
Many thanks
Pete

Can you zip up the contents of the renpy/ directory you created on your phone, and post it somewhere? It's hard to tell what's wrong from your description.

Looks like there might be a solution to this...

The BlueStacks runtime makes it possible for Android programs to run in individual windows and be launched from shortcuts like any other standalone Windows application. It also optionally offers the ability to run a complete Android user experience on Windows, including the launcher and other elements. Third-party applications that are built against the standard Android APIs don't have to be recompiled in order to work with the BlueStacks runtime.

I can't find this app in market (or anywhere else) anymore. And now I can't launch ren'py games on my new tablet. I read about RAPT but it is tooooooooo difficult for me.
