Feature request for Ren'Py 7.00: support for motion control

This reminds me of some recent Illusion games that used the webcam to track the player's face. When you nod, it registers as a 'Yes'. When you shake your head side-to-side, it registers as a 'No'. Now with a Kinect clone (with official drivers), dating sims will be far more immersive. Even without full 3D rendering/tracking, you can still have the eyes of the virtual girlfriends/boyfriends track the player's relative position to the screen, and even reach out in response to player movement.

I'm sure hentai gamemakers will have even more practical applications for the device.

Mousefree Simulation gaming is the next logical step in hands-free eroge playing from the Auto-forward button.

O yeah, you're right. Hentai games could use this new device in lots of variety ways, heheheh.... (since there's no hentai game in DS, Wii, PS3, or XBOX360)

I remember that webcam have this kind of facial recognition, zooming to a face and all, so I think it's something that can be done, but this technology uses neural networks so it's quite difficult.
To begin with you could customize a script close to the tesseract ocr then make it learn by itself...

Then you'd have to program the AI of the maid robot...

Might as well throw in voice recognition while we're throwing out random ideas.

Edit-Might wanna look at Augmented Reality Toolkit and CMU Sphinx for some code.
No Active Public Renpy Projects...

Motion control is incredibly useful for making applications available to disabled gamers or those with physical impairments that otherwise make it difficult to use a traditional keyboard and mouse combination. It's also suited for public performance and display of games - giving gamers a keyboard / controller to use in public is cumbersome and costly through the inevitable replacements due to damage or theft.

e: that being said I don't really think that this sort of thing should be natively supported by Ren'py, as there's too many third party variables and possibilities at play to make this nothing short of a nightmare. Hell, the SDK for Kinect only got officially released for Windows yesterday. Let game developers themselves implement it on a case-by-case basis using whatever libraries are available at the time (there's already a Python binding of the OpenKinect library out there, anyway)
i have no signature and i must obscure game reference
