Looking for slave musician, mwahahah

#1 Post by EzzyAlpha » Tue Apr 26, 2011 3:49 am

I'm doing everything else on CONNECT but I have neither the time nor the skill to work on the music. So I really need some help on this. I can't pay you, but I can guarantee you fame, because this game shall be AWESOME (hopefully).

I don't actually require a lot of tracks. Just around 10 or so, and a few slowed down versions for sad themes.

If you don't have the time for doing all the tracks, you can just do one or a few.

Tracks I need:

-OP: I have something in mind but it's complicated to explain. This will possibly be the most complex one.

-Kai's Theme: Theme for the hero/ine. Something upbeat, fast-paced and industrial sounding but not too happy. This is important as it will be the most commonly used track.
-Kai's Theme (Slow version): A slowed down version of the theme, perhaps only a base track (Like, if the main theme has a drum beat, a piano-like melody and some gear sounds, this version would just be the piano.)

-King's Theme: A casino theme. Something that reminds of Vegas and card games.
-(Slow version): Once again, a slowed down, simplified version of the theme. Actually, unless noted, all slows will be like this.

-Axel's Theme: Something happy and cute. Perhaps with some whistling or whistling-like tones.
-(Slow version)

-Jonas' Theme: A dark, moody theme. But not overly grim.
-(Happy version) Since Jonas is usually grim, a happy version of the theme is required for the scenes where he's truly happy. Perhaps higher pitched, slightly sped up.

-Liz's theme: A VERY upbeat theme. I'm thinking something with a bouncy feeling.
-(Slow version)

-Emily's theme: Something jazzy and mysterious.
-(Slow version)

-Sarah's theme: Something mellow and calm. I think some paper shuffling sounds mixed in would sound nice...
-(Slow version): Since the main theme is already calm, the slow version should just be more grim and lower-pitched.

-Hacker theme: Theme for the hacking and net segments. Something you'd expect to hear in a spy movie, perhaps with a few typing sounds mixed in.

-Adventure Theme: An heroic theme. Perhaps something like the music that plays when a hero in a shonen anime is winning.

-Campus theme: A theme that fits a school's atmosphere.
-(Nature version) : A theme for the campus grounds. A mellow version of the campus theme perhaps with some chirping birds.

-Danger theme: A fast-paced theme for when the heroes are in danger.
-(Grim version) : Much slower than the danger theme. A theme for when the atmosphere is just sad.

I would be very much thankful if someone could help me with this.

The term for Kai's theme's "metal sounds" is "industrial". It's a genre. I do music, but only when I have nothing else going on in my life besides work. Since I'm working on my own game right now, it's a no-can-do... sorry. :/

(Plus my sister loves steampunk and if even SHE can't come up with a good steampunk plotline, I have no faith whatsoever in the genre.)

PS "Wild, Wild West" is good though.

Ah, thanks. I knew there was a name for it but I couldn't remember. It's okay :). It's really more of a stempunk/cyberpunk hybrid.

If you still need someone for this, I might be able to help. I don't often compose music myself; however, I've been arranging for about half a year, and if I have a piece of music that's already in the public domain to work with (as with a great deal of classical music and folk songs), I can probably make what you want.

Here's an example: http://www.4shared.com/audio/3S7w89ex/C ... zchen.html
You can listen to the original piece here (it's very well-known): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvNQLJ1_HQ0

If you'd prefer, I could also try my hand at composing.

I made sarah's theme Or my version of it, However let me tell you one thing, I don't know what you have in mind but asking for 2 pieces per Character, it is a bit... to extreme, You might aswell Use a Main theme and Get it the Sad/Happy version of it, and use depending on the situation, That is however my personal opinion. Your project it's yours alone, What I can say for sure it's for that much music I doubt you can get anything for Free.

I do not charge money and I might help you once in awhile (Right Now I have 4 Projects to work on and 1 of them it's big)

Also keep in mind that this piece I made may differ in sound sometimes, You can take the intro of it and make into sarah's theme and cut the half of it for another theme, What you do with it it's up to you. take this as a gift.

:/ I could try to edit the piece for the sad version myself, I believe.
