Free proofreader, right here!

#1 Post by Scenario » Mon May 09, 2011 8:05 pm

Although I'm still fairly new to the forums, I'd like to help people with proofreading. This includes..

> Searching for grammatical errors,
> Fixing up sentences that sound too simple,
> Assisting you in looking for alternative synonyms,
> Throwing in some suggestions for a better plot, and
> Pointing out typos.

My grammar isn't perfect, but it's exceptional. I know all the basics, and punctuation usages (includes grave accents, it makes me so ANGRY when people use grave accents in substitution for apostrophes). So, you can count on me for that part. As for vague sentences, elaborating is one of my good points. I've never proofread for anybody before; since nobody ever asked me to do that for them. If you'd like me to assist you in proofreading for your story, dialog, or anything related to short essays/summaries/stories, I'm your person. I'm not sure if anybody is in need for one, seeing that I haven't seen many threads about looking for a proofreader.

If you'd like to test my abilities, then you might as well send me a paragraph or two; and ask me to revise it.

Ooh! Intense grammatical proofreading! :D I approve!
My game TCAST is hopefully going to enter beta testing soon, (a few weeks, hopefully? Everything seems to happen slow) and if you'd like to proofread then, that'd be awesome. :)

Mind if you proofread a part of my script? I really need to make sure I have it written good enough. I'll try and PM you if you can proofread it for me.
I have moved to a new account. Please contact me here from now on. T/Y~

I will definitely have something to do for you a little later on: I'm planning a thorough proofreading of my current game script as soon as Act 2 is complete. That means 60,000 words of text. Could you handle that amount in a realistic timeframe?

Ah, I'm terribly sorry for the late reply. (Haven't viewed this thread in a while)

If it's not too much to ask for, can you send your scripts to lie_please@hotmail.com? It doesn't matter how long the actual script is, because I've a lot of patience. (:

It doesn't take very long for me to catch any mistakes, but it might take a couple of hours to read the whole thing through repetitively in order to patch in some extra details. As for time frame, I'm not very sure. As I said, I've never proof-read for anybody yet, so I have no experience in determining how long I would take.

Here is the script. To read the script you have to download the novelty engine and click open and select file.

I can certainly do that. :) I'll let you know when it's ready for you and hopefully people won't have buried you in awesome projects by then. XD
