Looking for Flash Encoder (artist here)

#1 Post by suihara » Thu May 19, 2011 8:59 pm

Hi guys.. Im Suihara.. I'm definitely a NOOB in this field. but i wanna make a sim dating game for my original characters.. in FLASH
i cannot say that i'm a good artist but once i find someone who's experienced in Flash, I'll get it going. I can provide anything the encoder might need.. Dialog Boxes, Backgrounds, Character Sprites, Texts, Storyline, Widgets.. etc. It was supposed to be a one-man-band project but I tried studying Flash and i almost had a breakdown LOL hahaha. If there's any way to make RenPy-made games playable in a browser.. id totally go for it.

You can check out my works here: http://suihara.deviantart.com/

I'm planning to make an 8-character game, each character separated for each game. the first character would be...
Hana Sakuraba (the pink haired one) - http://suihara.deviantart.com/art/Summe ... -194556311
http://suihara.deviantart.com/art/Euphoria-205239351
http://suihara.deviantart.com/art/Falling-203804946
http://suihara.deviantart.com/art/Soda-Love-200063176
http://suihara.deviantart.com/art/Daijobu-200298980

Here's the format of the game that i want to appear in flash... (just a sample i made)
Image

1) HP - every wrong answer deducts one heart, once all hearts are gone, the game ends to a bad ending
2) Character Sprite - the character art for the game, changes expression according to the story flow. i have up to three different outfits for every character, a school uniform, casual and swimwear
3) Background CG - the one on the sample is not my work.. but i'm capable to make my own one. the game has three settings, Classroom/School, Park and Beach/Swimming Pool
4) Character Art - It's sort of optional. But to make the dialog box look better..ive added it. It doesnt change expressions though.
5) Character Name
6) Character Message - the things that the character are going to say as the player makes choices.
7) Player Choices - 3 Different Choices, and one correct Choice, a wrong choice deducts one heart. As the player hovers on a choice, a gradient appears beneath the text
8 Links - creator's links, and encoder's links
9) Sound Feature - the game has only one music playing over and over. a click on the sound button turns on/off the sound
10) Message Window - turns message window on/off.
11) Close button - returns to main menu.

...also a typical Main Menu screen. (Start Game, Option, Credits, Exit Game)

So.... here.. I know I'm asking for a lot.. and I cant give anything in return but credits. it's almost a typical sim dating game but in FLash.. i know its easier to do in RenPy.. but i wanna do this is Flash so i can share it in websites. but if there's any way to play renpy made games in a browser id totally go for it.

I hope i got someone interested. please tell me your thoughts and suggestions... what should i remove or add.. ^_^
thanks for checking this out.

If you looking on building a game engine in flash you could try illumination software creator. It allow you to build simple programs visually, like visual basics, but with this one it uses something like flow charts. Plus the good side to it is that it creates the source code in python, flash and xcode(for mac products such as ipad ,itouch, or just the mac itself). In a month it should be able to support for you to build games with it. It worth a shot, but at the same time you could use it to help teach you how to do things in flash. There a 101 introduction video on how to use it here at their blog site. The only down side is that you it that it will cost you $40-$50 for the license to use it, but that only to support him and his partner and give them a purpose to keep making this program better and better. So in a sense it's worth it.
The artist's world is limitless. It can be found anywhere, far from where he lives or a few feet away. It is always on his doorstep.
