Looking for a coder with non-specific skills for VN

#1 Post by Kuugen » Sat Jun 04, 2011 10:32 pm

edit: to clarify this, we have someone who does the text formatting, I need someone who can do the other stuff. Set sfx effects, the music, engine effects, etc.

I'll be explaining the project as a whole, briefly, now. Details can be gotten from Kuugen in the #madokagame IRC channel on rizon.

The VN is based on the franchise and specifically the anime version of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. To plot, as a general, is based on the events up to episode 11 and then takes it's own course, resulting in a different ending.
The VN is to be slated for medium / long lenght ( Right now we are expecting 300,000+ words with no upper limit being in place ) and is, as far as the technical aspect goes, fairly simple. The story style is more comparable to Steins;Gate as opposed to dating sims with routes. The coding requierements are fairly standard. Be able to properly set and loop music, place images, handle scene changes ( a single scene roughly translated to a chapter in book format ) and set some values which need to be called to determine scene changes at points.

The VN will be complete in english and so far we have one coder on board. Our other coder was Raijenki and he will be quitting the project ( and about everything else net related ) because of real life exams and other stuff, and I don't like to have a single person handle everything.

Other than that, we have a pretty complete staff list ( with one possible addition of SFX technician in the near future as there is an interested fellow ) Staff list at the end of the post with samples.

The main issue here is that we are all doing this as a non-profit project and thus, this is a unpaid gig. We, as fans of the franchise, are doing this for other fans of the franchise. So if you like the franchise and feel like helping out, answer in this thread or talk to Kuugen in #madokagame on irc.rizon.net

Edited first post, seems people misunderstand the post a bit.
