Searching: Colorist and/or Close-Up Artist

#1 Post by GeminiStar00 » Wed Jun 22, 2011 4:37 pm

For the past couple of month, my livejournal partner goatbit and I have working on the second chapter of our game, Project NA. Unfortunately, we've hit a couple of snags in the art department, due to goat's school taking up way more of her artistic time than she was expecting, and therefore she need back-up.

About the Game: Project N/A is, strictly speaking, an Axis Powers Hetalia doujinshi game. I say "strictly speaking" because it's one of those stories that's so far removed from the original content of the series that anybody can play it. The most that non-fans lose is some in-jokes.

Chapter 1 was about 3,500 words long. Chapter 2 - currently in the "script is basically complete, visual portions needed" stage - is just over 14,000. It's also got slightly more complex coding, which was actually the point of this whole endeavour in the first place (seemed like the best way to learn)

For more information, see this thread in the WIP forum here.

What We Need
At the very least, we are in desperate need of a colorist. As long as it looks good with goat's character sprites, it should be fine.

In addition, we have several (read: 6) close-up scenes that a second artist could draw in their own style without standing out from the overall style of the game. They appear in cross-sections, like this:

Which, when they appear in-game, produce a final result of something like this:

Since most of them are objects and hands, it would be easier for a second artist to do these without standing out. There may be a few other CGs that we'll ask you to finish once these are done, but that's something that may or may not happen, and you can always tell us no whenever you want. Thank you very much for taking a look, at least. We're really looking forward to seeing this game complete.

Full credit will of course be given to anyone willing to help us out, along with our sincerest thanks.
