Artist Available for Small Projects [taken]

#1 Post by Morhighan » Sat Jun 25, 2011 10:59 am

Hey there! It's me again.

I've decided that I want to improve on my art some. I am thus making myself available to small projects.

To me a small project is:
1-5 Characters with as many as 5 expressions each.
Low word count.
At most 1 CG scenes per chapter.
1-5 Background Images

Of course, these are just my preferences, which are completely negotiable.

My Services entail:
Assistance with Character Design (Includes general appearance as well as stylistic preferences in the art.)
Sketches (which I will provide until the author is satisfied.)
Colouring* (I work in both colour and black and white)
Finished Art**

*My Lineart is not the best, but I am versed in cell shading and soft shading. If a lineartist wants to work with me, that is fine.
**I am mainly interested in drawing sprites, however I may assist with Backgrounds.

Here are some samples of my work:

Please note that I am a very lenient person, so feel free to talk things over with me. My preferences are not set in stone and more often than not I would be more than willing to attempt to help you out in any way I can.

As seen here, I can also help with music. As an artist working on your project, feel free to bounce ideas off of me. (Feel free to do so even if I'm not working on your project.) I love assisting with writing as well.

Thank you for reading!

Free at this time. I need to improve my skills before I sell my work.

1) Don't assume that I will do your project.
2) Don't order me around.
3) I can't copy the style of others.
4) I can't see those images well enough to do anything.
I have my doubts about your project, even if I were being paid. I need many directions and a lot of communication before, during, and after I initiate my creative process.
You asked a question, I answered, and then you started to tell me what to do. Sorry if my response seems harsh, but there is a degree of professionalism that I expect. At least etiquette.
Thank you.

@NewMember - Please buy a scanner. You've done this before and you've been told that the quality of those images is not good enough. Even if you don't want to buy a scanner, you could at least try to take the photographs flat-on and with decent lighting. Please begin to listen to the advice of the members here - it's for your own benefit.

@Newmember

I'd like to say "Sorry" but I'm not. My here is that you cannot take back what you say, change time, and make things better. You said what you said. Now please remove the images from my thread. No matter how hard I squint at them or how large they are, it makes no difference.
Thank you.

Morhighan, do you have any coloring samples available? Also, would you consider doing colorist work on another artist's lineart, and if so, what amount of it would you be willing to consider a "small project"?

You see, I have a WIP game that's at about half-way complete, but my artistic partner has gotten very busy with her schoolwork, and bringing in a colorist would lighten the load on her considerably. But I don't want to ask too much since you're looking for small projects to work on.

Sadly I don't have any current coloring samples, however I would be willing to take one of the linearts from your project and color it a few different ways to show you my abilities/styles. Then we could talk it over and I could color the rest of the lineart to your preferences.

I'm just looking for any project. My definition of "small project" is completely negotiable. I actually really enjoy coloring other people's lineart (just not my own o.O) so as long as I have clear instructions and art to follow, it should be no problem for me to lend a hand. You're not asking too much at all, in my opinion. I'll review the work with you in PM.

Thank you for your interest!

All right, I'll talk to my artist and get one of the line arts for you to give it a try. ^_^ She's living in Japan ATM so it will probably be tomorrow sometime, or possibly later this week since she doesn't get online every night. Would you rather I post the line art here for you, or PM it?

@Newmember--no. I'm afraid that I am not interested in working with you. In fact, I am rather busy with requests already.

@GeminiStar00--sent PM.
