Composer for your game

#1 Post by Arthur » Tue Aug 30, 2011 2:53 pm

Hi!
I am a professional composer, arranger, musician, sound technician with over 20 years of experience. I can write any kind of musical genre with an affinity to the movies and games business, as well as Orchestral, Epic, Trailer Music, Intro Music, Film Score, Classic and Folk.
In 2011 released online game, for which I wrote about a hundred tracks, including the main theme, themes for battle, the theme for the national factions, and much more (orchestral, ethnic).
Before the premiere, I unfortunately can not give a reference to this work.

But you can evaluate the quality of my works:

Are you offering your services for free, or is it commercially?

This is commercial. Unfortunately, I can not afford to work for free.

Price depends on several conditions:
1. What is the composition: a full symphony orchestra, rock band, a small folk group, etc. As you can imagine a full symphony orchestra is more expensive than a small folk group.
2. The length of the track.
3. Deadlines.
In any case, the price starts at $ 100.

What would the price be for a simple but sad piece played on the pianno for about 3 minutes?

Probably close to his starting rate of $100. For this community, that's a bit stiff. Also, what currency is that? I can think of four countries off the top of my head that use dollars as their currency: The US, Australia, Zimbabwe and Canada. $100ZD I can pull out of the couch. $100USD is a lot.

EDIT: For the record, Arthur, you may want to put your rates or at least the information that you will expect to be paid and will not work otherwise in your thread title and first post.
I'm going to get off my soap-box now, and let you get back to your day.

Given that this is only a piano, it would cost $ 100 US.
And given also that it will be our first experience of cooperation, I can make the music more diverse by adding to the piano (eg flute, strings) for the same price.

What kind of license that we got? Is that $100 song mean we (the client/buyer) got exclusive right to the song (you couldn't sell same song to others)? Since it's a bit costly for a single song...

Naturally, this means that you are a client \ customer, and I will not sell this music to others.
Moreover, I do not sell pre-written songs, I write for a specific customer, under its specific recommendations and suggestions. And in the process of working on a track I make the changes that the customer wants, but it takes time to achieve a good result. Of this sum, and the base price for the track.

Link to the game The Bee Way, for which I wrote an original track and a cover version of "Flight of the Bumblebee" by Rimsky-Korsakov: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5in2ux62fU
