Pet Project Revived (Writers Wanted)

Maybe you should think about the world as some sort of Pokemon alternate universe where instead of *making* these people, they are just the evolution of the actual animals (suspend some disbelief that all animals evolve into humans, lol). They're just learning how to be human, so need your help ..? Or that they're ... animal ... spirits? Yes, when you look at a human as a "pet" that is inherently disturbing. Maybe they don't start as human things, but you actually just ordered a puppy/iguana/horse and at night it turns into a person because magic? Magic.

Okay... I'm lost. I don't really understand what's the topic now since I'm not that bright to understand.
But if you want things to seem realistic, where the world accepts hybrids as normal, so use that evolution theory. Only the hybrids are treated as pets.

I guessed my idea earlier, about the MC wishes for a pet companion, and the wish came true when he sees the pet inside his house now, in the form of hybrid. Along the way they can try to figure out the pet's real identity, a spirit, a magical creature, etc. Or maybe that wasn't the case?

Well, if we use the setting I just posted, then it's up to you really... you could make the pet-tan a new kind of evolved animal, a goddes/guardian deity, genetically mutated animals (like godzilla), a mutant, a cursed human being, anything you could think of.

It's the setting that gives writer most freedom without disturbing other writers world that I could think of (for now)... Or do you guys really want we use Wanko to Kurasou world setting?Well, that's fine for me too...

I think it's best for everyone do do there own pet backstory and not try to explain it for everyone. That way everyone can do what they want and what personal and ideologically suits them, whether it's scientific experimentation, magic, alien, folklore, evolution, whatever.

As for the intro, I'm fine with that. But. Does it have to be that complicated? Do we really have to explain that much about it? Can't we just say a guy orders a pet and gets a bit of a surprise when it's not what he expected? The simpler the intro, the easier it will be for everyone to write their own paths without running into plot holes that are introduced in the beginning. Otherwise, everyone else is ok with it, I'm ok with LVUER's intro.

I like a magical mysterious pet store idea. It sounds like it'd be better for everyone... I wouldn't want to directly copy Wanko to Kurasou, though it would make having a pet girl more ethical. Maybe a little inspiration from chobits that it's taboo to fall in love with your pet.

@Auro: Isn't that what it is? You order a pet and it gets delivered to you. Maybe the guy's new to the area so that's the only pet store he can find, or it's just a fluke that he sees the pet store and thinks that it'd be nice to have a pet in his new house.

What I meant was I think we are over thinking it. It's a short story, you probably don't need to explain where or how or why the pet store exists. As soon as you try to explain things you start raising constrictions and leave room for plot holes. I think all the reader needs to know in the intro is that the MC wants a pet and he orders one from an advertisement or a store. The rest can be explained however the writers wants, who the pet is, why they have been adopted, how the story is going to end. It needs to be kept as simple as possible. The store and how mysterious it is is not the point of the story, it should not be a major part. The focus should be the pet and the interactions with the MC should be the focus.

That said, I'm still ok with the store idea. Just saying we probably don't need to put in that much effort into it.

Hehehe, it seems I have tendency to think everything in great detail. Well, the back story is there just to keep consistency between writer and in case you need some info/reference from back story.

Anyway, you don't need to explain any of the back story in your pet pat if you don't want to. But in case you want to explain the background info of your pet, please don't stray too far from the back story that I provided (which only cover how you could meet your pet anyway, which is via the adoption center).

I'm completely confused now at what's going on. It seems like I'm the one throwing the wrench into the bike tire, so to make things simple, I'm withdrawing as I am only making things more confusing and causing in-fighting. I've got more projects on my plate than I can handle right now anyway.

Aw I'm sorry it's so confusing. It's hard to get a lot of people to agree on one thing.

I know I'll probably get slapped for this but... Maybe we can make it simpler by not taking any more pet ideas and trying to find writers for the pets who don't have a story yet.
The list so far is pretty big already, we have 7 pets (not counting people who left a design with no story or haven't mentioned that they want to form a team, sorry):
1. Dog (German shepherd-tan)
2. Cat (Lucky)
3. Fish (Koi)
4. Hamster/Mouse (Himawari)
5. Reptile pet (Nemui)
6. Equine (horse/pony-tan)
7. Insect pet (LVUER's pet)

Personally I'd like to see bird-tan and rabbit-tan too, but that's already a lot. I've taken my ferret-tan out because her story wouldn't work with the revisions we've made, and I've chosen to write/draw for Lucky (cat) instead.

No matter what there's going to have to be limits, unfortunately

Um... My point was to not take anymore pet-tans since we have so many already, and find writers for the pettans that don't have writers... It's all up to LVUER though.
Also can't we get some more generic pets, like bird-tan, hedgehog-tan, ect? the mc probably wouldn't adopt a panda outright, that just screams "fishy"...

Just like I wrote several days ago, I don't take anymore pet-tan, but Taleweaver have been on the list for a very long time (he's waiting for an artist). So if you can make the Panda-tan path, then I will give it a go... though personally, I think Panda is a bit... I don't know, it's an endangered species and not exactly a pet (though mantis is not a pet for everyone too). In the end though... if you think you could make an interesting story with Panda, hey, why not?

You're not making Ferret-tan? Aaawww... what a shame. Since she is so cute, I want to read about her story... You will draw for Iguana-tan too, right? I hope you're not too busy drawing for two pets at the same time...

Additional note:
1. I see that (almost) no one complain with the latest setting, then I want to got with that. I will later update the first post (can't do it right now).

2. Since now everyone will make their own BG, I will ask Mugenjohncel to make GUI instead. He is very good at making that too, right?
