New composer looking for inspiration

Hello! I recently just joined this forum after learning about it a few days ago. Nice to meet you guys :D

Anyway, as the title says, I'm a composer who's looking for a little inspiration - or work in that matter lol. I don't charge anything, since I just want to improve as much as I can. I feel more motivated though when people task me with things instead of doing them by myself, and that's also one of the reasons why I'm posting this. I wanna know how it feels to work for something that I can see.

here's some songs I've already finished. I don't really do techno stuff, but mainly instrumentals with guitars, violins, pianos etc,

Nice songs! If you're looking for a project to hone your skills in, you might want to consider joining the LemmaTV: Television that watches you team. We welcome all styles of anything- be it writing, art, or music- so you'll find plenty of opportunities to hone your skills and improve.

If you're interested, PM me and I can get you in the team.

Welcome! One thing you may have noticed already is that people love composers here. :D

Great stuff there, I really liked "Need a hand?" and "Always beside you", but them I'm a sucker for that kind of soft piano piece. And for someone that doesn't do techno, you gave "City Stroll" a nice beat. I have a couple of proposals for songs I need for my rom-com that you may find interesting. I have some basic music training, so I can discuss ideas and even suggest a melodic line, but I couldn't write an arrangement to save my life... PM me if you would like to hear more details, okay?

Your music is really nice!
I second sciencewarrior, I really liked the piano pieces yo had (:

I'd hire you right away if I had a project that needed music! But it's too early for my personal projects to reach that stage, haha ^^;
Good luck ^___^

Interesting, it seems you're using FL Studio (since I think I recognize FL Slayer and some others typical FL-Studio instruments).

The structure of your works is great (intro, multiple parts, nice combos), and maybe it would be better if you worked more on the spatialization and maybe some customization of the instruments (they sound really "raw").

Edit : oh and if your "Always beside you" is not based on the Canon in D by Pachelbel, at least the chord progression, it's a big coincidence.

Very nice songs! I especially enjoyed 'Justice Through Trials'. Im working on a small dating sim that's in need of some battle type music for an RPG section of the game so I'll deffinetly try and get some music from you once I'm closer to getting it done.

Truthfully, I haven't had a greeting like this in a long time :D
Thank you for all the offers, and the suggestion of ziassan too! Yup, I use FL Studio, and I'll do my best to make my instruments sound more dynamic :D

This LemmaTV group sounds very interesting! I'd really like to give it a shot

Ahah it wasn't really about dynamic, more the "texture" of instruments which would need to be a little bit more "personal". About the spatialization have you tried some effects about this ? If not try the "Fruity Stereo Enhancer" and choose the "For string" preset at first, move the stereo step and things like that, you'll get interesting results.

(sorry I you knew already this stuff, but I don't know how much you're used to FL Studio).

Ps : oh and Nanahime, you should maybe present your VN before, in the past when someone said this kind of request I was a bit uneasy : if the composer reply, he's already a little engaged, hard to say "oh finally your project doesn't interest me, bye".
Hmm it's not my topic anyway, but I wanted to say a thing about this since a long time so good opportunity~

I actually haven't used FL Studio for that long so I'm really thankful for the advice. I'd seen stereo enhancer in the effects pool but I guess I didn't give it too much attention lol. I'll get right to it and see how it goes. Thanks again! It's good to have a senior in music making, especially since you also know how to use FL studio :D

Ahah, senior is far too much, I've still so many things to learn about music making, technical stuff etc.... but some advices would have been useful by the past for me, and I lost so much time... so I try to explain what I can to avoid this to others.
The main thing is too never get satisfied of your current "level" on FL-Studio (and any other soft). It's easy and comfortable to just think "oh I can make good melodies, songs that people like, using the basics, so it's okay" (I overdo it willingly), but try new things, new and unknow technics is really important to improving yourself and get new motivation.

For instance the "masterization" is really a big and difficult part about it, it's what makes the difference between an amateur and pro sound, most of the music realesed by studio have one or more guys just working only this part. For VN stuff you don't need to think to much about it of course, since the tracks may not be but some things are really interesting.
Like, using a compressor on the right instruments, and on the whole "Master" channel.
And sharing the frequences portions when you have many instruments, using the equalizer.
About the stereo enhancer, try just to put it on a instrument like strings or something vast, and move the cursor, you'll see.
But I don't know how much you know about it ahah so it's hard to establish where it needs explainations or not hm.

And maybe you need to develop your own way of working, too~

It's official, I'm calling you my senpai now :)
But really, thanks a lot for the advice. I'm sure it'll be really helpful :D

Very nice songs. I really like them. I'm also trying to compose some pieces but I'm not good at it ( I'm a beginner ). :D

Christ, I think I can use most of your demo songs unaltered in my latest project.

Would you be interested in contributing some more tracks to a contemporary urban fantasy RPG? I can pay in concept art, writing, proofreading and cash. PM me.

I'm still kind of a beginner too lol. I've probably been doing this for about 6 months only and still need to practice a lot more :D
