A program to clear images?

#1 Post by Kianaco »

I was wondering if anyone knew about a program that I could use to clear up any images/backrounds.

How do you mean "clear up", can you show an example of what kind of image you would want to do this to?

I mean to unpixlate

Everytime I increase the size of an image it becomes pixlated

and I can't find an image to rid the pictures of being pixlated.

You have to rebuild the images if you're scaling up. Scaling down isn't an issue. Scaling up more than a few pixels will never go well.
I'm going to get off my soap-box now, and let you get back to your day.

Photoshop or SAI. Or for free alternative, GIMP. But Photoshop is your best bet.

Miss this one, sorry...
If you increase image size, it WILL become pixelated. There's no way it won't happen since it's the nature of how computer store an image. The exception is if the image is vector-based. Vector based means the image is stored in form of "mathematic formula" (so their size is usually smaller than raster-based image), so when you increase the size, your computer only need to re-calculate everything and re-drawing everything from scratch, so it won't get pixelated. The drawback is not every program can open/view vector images.

There are programs out there that could smoothen pixelated image, but I don't know any free one. I think photoshop can do that, but I never try it personally.
