Looking for a team ver. 2 lol

#1 Post by weer432 » Mon Jul 09, 2012 9:01 pm

Looking for artists, voice actors, and anyone that would be interested in helping with writing/proofreading. You kinda have to be willing to work for free, sorry. :/
Pm me, or ask on this topic, any questions you have. Thanks in advance! :D

The story for the vn:
3 friends find a magical book that seems to have a connection with a demon named Aamon. After reading it for a while they discover that if they follow a map, found in the book, they may be able to summon the demon with a tablet found in 'The red hallway'. But things only get worse from there, and when Aki(The main character)'s friends end up dying, he promises to avenge them with help from the demon Aamon himself.

- Sorry if the plot isn't that amazing right now, I'm still planning out more events.
Really need artists to create characters, I can probably do most of the backgrounds myself.
Thanks for victoria jennings, and darkspartans advice on my last post.
I'm using ren'py to program the game, so I'll do the main writing and programming.

I'm expecting the game to be about 10,000-15,000 words total.
I will probably create most of the backgrounds myself, and for character sprites I'll probably need about 5-10 per character. There will probably be quite a few characters, although most may only need 1-2 sprites.
Voice actors don't really need any skill or equipment, just a microphone and a voice lol. I'm not expecting too many skilled artists, or voice actors too want to help considering this is my 1st visual novel. As long as you have an interest in the project you can be as skilled or unskilled as you want.
Like I said in the original post I would like to have someone who could proofread over my work, or add some small ideas.
I do not need programmers.
I'll also take care of the music.
Just show some interest in the project and you can help if you want.
I would just like if someone could draw the main character, and his demon in different poses. All the other characters in the game could essentially have the same pose and different expressions.

If you want a team, give your prospective teammates an idea of the task that lies ahead:

- What's the scope of your project? How long do you intend your game to be in terms of words and/or playlength?
- How much art do you need? How many character sprites with how many poses/facial expressions, how much BG art, how many CGs, what in terms of GUI?
- You're looking for VAs - what, in terms of skill and equipment, do they need to work with you? Male or female voices? What types of characters do you need voiced?
- Do you need co-writers, and if so, what would be their tasks?
- Do you need programmers, and if so, what would they need to do for you?
- Do you need musicians, and if so, what do you expect of them?

A few more details are necessary if you want people to join you.
Scriptwriter and producer of Metropolitan Blues
Creator of The Loyal Kinsman
Scriptwriter and director of Daemonophilia
Scriptwriter and director of The Dreaming
Scriptwriter of Zenith Chronicles
Scriptwriter and director of The Thirteenth Year
Scriptwriter and director of Romance is Dead
Scriptwriter and producer of Adrift

Thank you, I'll be able to explain better then. This is my first visual novel, so I wasn't sure exactly what should be posted about the project. But here are the details:
I'm expecting the game to be about 10,000-15,000 words total.
I will probably create most of the backgrounds myself, and for character sprites I'll probably need about 5-10 per character. There will probably be quite a few characters, although most may only need 1-2 sprites.

That's, um, a lot of sprites. You'd be hard-pressed to find an artist who'll draw that many for free. x_x;;

The problem with having multiple artists is the discrepancy between styles. This is just a thought, but perhaps you could find one person to draw all the base sprites, another to trace it/touch it up, and another to color, so that way you won't have one person doing everything. I know that's how it works with manga, when mangaka have assistants to help with tracing.

Yeah, It still might be alot of work though. I know the plot I have in mind would probably require at least 26 sprites.. I don't know if any one person would be willing to do even just one part of all of that. It seems like alot.

Hmm... well, an easy way to decrease the amount of sprites necessary is to have one base pose for everybody and just give them different expressions. Having multiple poses for each character might be something of a lofty goal for your first game. And just having one base sprite makes it easy to give characters different outfits as well.

That's a good idea actually. I would just like if someone could draw the main character, and his demon in different poses. All the other characters in the game could essentially have the same pose and different expressions.

Welp, I can't wait 'til you get this all figured out. I'm kind of excited to see this game get off the ground, actually. C:

Good luck, my friend!

Ok THE STORY IS AWESOME AND I CAN'T ACTUALLY WAIT FOR IT TO FINISH .

I'm actually willing to draw the sprites I love drawing and I don't care less about money (but still money inspires me more BUT I DON'T CARE)
but first of all I don't get actually how many characters , poses , outfits , expressions you need please put it more simply for me ( I apologize but I have a slow mind)

characters = ?
Poses for each character = ?poses/?character *(ex total characters are ten but you only want five each with 3 poses , 3/5 )
outfits per character = ?outfit/?character *(same ^^^^)
expressions = ?

and can you please post samples of the style of the sprites you want or you could just describe how they look and their personalities and I'll see what I can do

I don't have any CG samples right now but I will post some sketches right after I finish doing one
my coloring isn't that good tho but still a decent one

you can find samples of my drawings here
http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... 38&t=16348

for my coloring check this one out (plz ignore the drawing it sucks and I don't draw like that anymore look at the coloring) my skills got improved tho so expect coloring better than this

for my chibi samples
http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/ ... 53rxp1.jpg

and is there a deadline ? if so when is it ? if not when are you gonna post one ?

and is this team an official team or just random people per game ?

Actually, I'm the main spriter for this game. Weer hasn't gotten back to me in a while, so I don't know if he's still up to this, but yeah, if he is, he already has an artist (two actually, me and MusicaFate).

Of course, if he prefers your art, that's up to him. Just thought I'd let you know.

NOOO you already took the position D: I can't take it from you nor the other artist.....but the story is soo good I actually want him to continue it ;__;

I can try to voice act if you'd like.
But can I see a specific list of the characters so I can chose one that would match my voice?
