Colourist here! (closed)

#1 Post by Mizzykin » Mon Oct 01, 2012 6:29 pm

Hey there, I'm Maia. I have decided to come look for a project that I might be able to help with. Since this is my first time attempting to work on a visual novel, I decided it would be better if I worked for free.
Some examples can be found here: http://mizzykin.deviantart.com/
I don't have too many examples up, but hopefully that should give you a small idea for what I can do. I'm pretty flexible, in terms of style, provided that I have quite a few examples to work with.
I would prefer to work on school life otome style games.
I hope I'm not being too picky or anything, haha.

EDIT: I decided to add a drawing which I partially coloured in. This style is much more shiny and colourful then my normal painting style artwork, that's why I added it in.

Welcome to the forums! Your coloring is really, nice, particularly the Colors of the Winter Sky. I'm not working on anything that's school life, but I wanted to wish you good luck on finding a team.

Your samples are nice! I love doing lineart but I lose patience for coloring easily. (More like, I don't know when it's done and when it's too much, haha ) Unfortunately I'm not working on a classic otome game at the moment, but this is an awesome offer you're putting out there.

I'm like the opposite of you, haha. I despise doing lineart, and my favourite part of the process is colouring. That's why I switched over to a painterly style of art.
Thank you for the compliment, aha. :3

If you don't mind joining a group, Polymorphic Games could always use a talented colorist. You can even get paid in arrears for your work, if you'd like.
The best reason to get up in the morning is to outdo yourself: to do it better than you've ever done it before. But if you haven't done it better by nightfall... look at your globe and pick a spot: it's always morning somewhere.

@Gear
A got a message from what seems to be another member from the group. I was planning on replying within the next few days. Of course, money is all the more tempting... :P

@Daistarir
Thank you!
Haha, sorry, I was kinda procrastinating on making a thread for this.
I don't mind working on other types of games, it's not just limited to otome school life. If something has an interesting plot that can pull me in, I will happily work on it. The only thing I won't work on is explicit games, for obvious reasons.

Hi, I like your painting-like coloring style. *_* For my project, I need one CG which is supposed to show an oil painting, which is why my anime-CG coloring style won't cut it. Would you be able to help out?
