Looking for a Jap to english/french tl for an Higu Project

#1 Post by TheGuraGuraMan » Sat Nov 17, 2012 5:48 pm

Hello.

I'm looking for someone who could translate from japanese to english or french (don't really care). It has been some time since I was looking for one, but I never really asked here, so let's give a try.

So yes as you could see in the title, it's for an higurashi project, and quite a huge one : I'm actually completely converting Higurashi Matsuri (Ps2 version) on Onscripter (well in fact PONscripter, I'm working on the french version, which is professional btw, but someone was interested to replace it by Mangagamer's version, so in english). It's not a little project, I began it like 8 month ago and I'm frequently working on it. I'm not just replacing sprites and bgs, I'm also making the textbox (with names), adding sunset/night version, remaking the menus exactly like the Ps2 version, and many other things. It's not a patch, it's like a new game.

Preview of the menus :

new title menu.

some parts are more or less ripped from the Ps2, and I didn't tl'ed them yet, so no it's not the final version.

example video, don't forget it's already outdated, and don't have animations for ex.

Introduction of each arcs like the Ps2 version, just made Onikakushi for now tough

Also, the script is cut into many files, making it quite easy to tl it in another language if anyone is interested.

So why did I made this topic ? Quite simple, I would love to get the 3 extra arcs of the Ps2 translated, and my script is perfectly made to add them. Can't get a script of them, but I know quite a simple other way to get it of course. So the last thing missing is quite obvious : a traaaaanslaaaatooooor.....

I hope this showdown will motivate at least one translator to help me

Ah and if you don't know what are the 3 extra arcs :

- Taraimawashi-hen, must be the least interesting since the arc Yakusamashi-hen have very similar events, you just replace Satoko by Mion.

- Tsukiotoshi-hen, If I had to choose only one of the three, it would be this one.
http://whentheycry.wikia.com/wiki/Tsukiotoshi-hen

- Miotsukushi-hen, the other end arc.

Btw, those arcs should be half as long as the classic ones, so around 5-10 hours each ;)

Oooh, this is impressive! I can't help, but I've been very interested in playing the PS2 version of Higurashi for a long time. :) I hope you succeed!

I'm a HUGE fan of When They Cry. In fact, I actually own LEGIT copies of the name when each arc was $20 on mangagamer! (Hah! Not many people can say they can bought it besides me! :lol)

If this is successful, then I am really looking forward to it.

:) Which part are you interested to translate ?

Except the 3 arcs there are some others parts :

- Some little new scenes you get with choices in the first arc.

- In Tsumi, there is a choice which make you skip a big part, I presume it's Kei thinking he don't have to worry about Rena, which directly lead to the attack of the school. There is also a little choice in the end, if you choose the wrong way Rena kill you. Those parts are REALLY fast, so it shouldn't take much time.

- The tips related to the extra arc.

- The char meeting of Miotsukushi.

In fact another person is interested, the one who make this : http://whenwetranslate.livejournal.com/ So if you want to help we would need to check who do what ^^

Like I said earlier, I began doing it, but in the end I intend to first begin with every extra content (mainly related to choices) before beginning the extra arcs. The tree system will be exactly like Matsuri's, but with only difference : Matsuribayashi will be in it.

Here is a full image I made if you want to check it :
