Hello, I'm ichi with SC7. We are a nonprofit studio working on a few projects and are hoping to pick up a new artist or two, and possibly another musician. Personally, I am a writer for Reiko's path in Coda: Of Love & Composition.

Coda: Of Love & Composition (CoLoCo) will be a visual novel containing 5 thrilling paths that contain realistic, yet romantic tales. These tales will revolve depression, anger, happiness, drugs, abuse, and more. It's up to the player and his choices in how the situation is handled. Before we deliver the full VN, we plan on releasing small prologue-VNs which will introduce some of the main characters using their back stories.

We currently have 5 writers, 4 editors, 3 programmers, 4 musicians, and a few artists. Most of us are extremely active. However, some of us run into real life. We are a nonprofit studio after all, so we all have other duties to attend. We use Trello to organize our studio duties, Google Drive to store our work, and we use our IRC channel plus a forum to communicate. Some members also know each other from outside the internet.

We currently have a ton of writing and music finished. We also have some art as well to show. Here are some examples as to show our current style.

Positions Needed:
(We're currently good on Musicians and Programmers, but I'll be leaving it open just in case. Mainly in need of artists.)
Artists
Preferably skilled with Digital Art. Anime style, similar to anime and VNs such as Canvas 2, Clannad, Ef~, etc.
Background artists are needed as well! Please have a sample of your work submitted with your application.

Musicians
Required: Ability to notate music digitally, and save via xml. Understanding of traditional music theory. Personal dropbox or similar. Must submit sample work with application.

Preferred: Sibelius or finale notation software. Knowledge of keyboard technique. Understanding of four part writing, 20th Century theory, extended techniques.

Programmers
Should be knowledgeable in general software engineering practices and have working knowledge of the Python programming language (2.7.3). Familiarity with Ren'Py is also a plus.

If you're still recruiting, is it for paid or free positions? The concept looks interesting.

Nobody in the entire studio is paid, if that's what you're asking. We are mostly college students, or around that age group, so we don't really have the funds to pay for these positions.

I see. If that's the case, if and when you're looking for guest/promotional art maybe I could contribute with something. Do make a post about the game when you have more things done, though, it looks interesting.

As for the music section, what do you mean by "save via xml"? I've never heard of saving anything like this.

To be able to export from some sort of composition software in to xml format, sometimes called "musicXML", which allows more metadata to be saved than midi does. This is a common feature for composition software.

This is so at the end, we can have all of our music run through the same production process and engineered in a consistent fashion.

If you have any sort of notation software, you can normally save as, or export as music xml.

Ah, I see. I'm just not used to saving it that way, because I use a DAW in composing all my music instead of notation software. You get more control that way.

We picked up a new musician a few days ago and seem to be making steady progress. We are still look for artists and anyone with great skills that would like to contribute ^-^
